The Post-Graduate Programme in Management is the flagship programme of IIM Raipur. The PGP is aimed at providing an overall development of the students and groom them as future business leader to successfully face the challenge of global competition and dynamic market scenario.
The objectives of two year Post-Graduate Programme are to understand the socio-economic, technological, ecological and political environment of India and the world; to hone the problem solving skills, increase the affinity to innovation and the passion for creativity, To develop global mind set to meet the challenges of international and work in a cross-cultural environment, To create socially responsible and globally competitive management graduates who can effectively contribute to inclusive growth of the society, To develop a sense of social purpose for managerial decision-making and to develop leadership capabilities without compromising on ethical values.
The specific outcomes envisaged for the PGP program are Ability to apply knowledge of management theories and practices to solve business problems, Analytical and critical thinking abilities for data-based decision making, Ability to develop value-based leadership ability, Ability to understand, analyze, and communicate global, economic, legal, and ethical aspects of business, Ability to lead themselves and others in the achievement of organizational goals, contributing effectively to a team environment, Ability to develop and sharpen the decision-making skills to resolve business problems, Ability to inculcate and foster creativity and innovation in business environment.
Admission/Selection Process for Candidates for MBA program at IIM Raipur is through CAT Exam and IIM CAP PI round. The selection of the candidates for admission to the MBA at IIM Raipur is a two-step process.
In the first step, candidates are short-listed for Common Admission Process (CAP) comprising Personal Interview (PI) from among the candidates who have a valid CAT score, who have applied to the programme and who satisfy the eligibility criteria for the programme. Detailed Admission process is as below:
- The candidate must have appeared and scored the minimum required percentile in CAT. Candidates are short-listed for CAP round which is the common PI round for CAP participating IIMs.
- Candidates are shortlisted from among the candidates who have a valid CAT score, who have applied to the programme and who satisfy the eligibility criteria for the programme
- After the PI round, IIM Raipur will award weightages to various parameters and admission offers are made by IIM Raipur to successful candidates.
The final selection is based on a diverse set of attributes which includes performance in CAT, performance in CAP round, academics, co-curricular and extra-curricular achievements, work experience among others

The PGP extends over a period of two years, involving six trimesters with a summer internship at a prestigious organization. The programme is carefully designed keeping in view the changing needs of the global business scenario.
During the first year, students are exposed to basic concepts in the areas of Marketing, Finance, Quantitative Methods, Operations, Behavioural Sciences and Strategy through the core courses. These lay the foundations for all the functional areas of management and help the students develop an intricate understanding about the different facets involved.
In the second year, students choose from a range of electives to concentrate on functional areas of their interest. The areas offered at present are Finance, Operations, Marketing, Human Resources, Strategy and General Management.
A lot of emphasis during the PGP has been laid on industry based and research projects. The students, over the period of years are expected to conduct research on various aspects of management and subject it to the scrutiny and evaluation of the faculty. This is aimed at increasing the levels of comprehension the students possess in the respective topics.
Register and apply for CAT exam by paying the requisite application fee for the exam. On the page 4 of CAT application form, you need to select IIM Raipur PGP and other programs and select the interview city. Your application for IIM Raipur admission is submitted. You do not need to apply and pay separately for IIM Raipur Admission. After declaration of CAT exam result, you can check at IIM Raipur as well as IIM CAP website whether you are shortlisted by entering your CAT registration ID and password.
- IIM Raipur 2 years full time PGP (MBA) Eligibility criteria require that the candidate must hold a bachelor's degree of minimum 3 years duration after class 12, with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA.
- The candidate should appear in CAT exam and must score minimum prescribed sectional and overall score to be considered for shortlisting.
- Candidates appearing for the final year bachelor's degree/equivalent qualification examination and those who have completed the degree requirements and are awaiting results are also eligible to apply for Admission.
