The CAT 2016 registration and application window is proposed to open in the 1st week of August. CAT 2016 convening IIM and the testing partner TCS would open the registration process at 10 AM. IIM Bangalore, the CAT 2016 convening IIM proposes to release the exam notification for Common Admission Test (CAT) 2016 in a weeks time from now in the month of July with all the relevant details on how to register and appear in CAT 2016 exam.

CAT 2016 must not see the mistakes that I made last year. Hailing from a southern advanced state of India and with Public school back ground, I prepared well for CAT and was always confident to crack at least VARC questions in the exam without much difficulty. I solved 26 out of 34, working out till the last minute available for Verbal Ability section but when CAT result was declared, I was astonished to see that I scored the lowest percentile in VARC among all the 3 sections. I have now committed to myself that I will take every care not to repeat the mistakes in CAT 2016.

IIM Ahmedabad who convened CAT last year overhauled the exam structure and content with the sole objective to have more non-engineers, women and candidates from diversified background to improve academic and gender diversity in IIM class rooms.

CAT 2016 exam notification is expected to be released next week and in all probability before July 25. Since registration process for CAT opens after a week or so from the date of release of CAT exam notification, it is also expected that the registration and application process for the exam will begin in the 1st week of August, 2016. The fee for registration for CAT 2016 exam may also remain same at Rs.1600/- as it was for last year.

IIFT exam notification for admission to its flagship MBA (IB) 2017-19 programme is expected to be released on July 15, 2016. The registration process will also begin on the same day with the release of IIFT exam notification. For the last few years Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT) has been releasing its MBA (IB) entrance exam notification on July 15 in leading news papers and on its site simultaneously. Accordingly only 2 days are left to opening of registration for IIFT entrance exam.

Till the year before last, question sets on Logical Reasoning in CAT remained as a dependent section clubbed to Verbal Ability. CAT exam takers probably did not award LR the due weightage in preparation as they did not find it so necessary as in other MBA entrance exams like SNAP, XAT among others. But the situation has changed now.

Number of Management Institutes accepting MAT 2016 September scores has gone down to 164 from 330 in last exam. The scores of MAT 2016 September exam can be used for admission to MBA/PGDM 2017-19 programme in these B-schools.

CAT 2016 the gateway to 20 IIMs and other top B-schools is hardly 100 days away and the candidates who appeared in CAT last year but could not make it to their dream B-school due to the mistakes they made during preparation and in the testing room now are hell bent not to repeat them again. They are preparing again to hit a high overall as well as high sectional scores with a vow to get their dream IIM in 2017.
