Dr. Anil D. Sahasrabudhe to take over as new AICTE Chairman; MHRD took 6 months to fill the vacuum
After keeping the post of full time Chairman of AICTE vacant for about 6 months, MHRD has finally announced the appointment of Dr Anil Dattatraya Sahasrabudhe as the new Chairman of All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) the regulatory body of higher and technical education in the country. At present Dr Sahasrabudhe is the Director and Secretary Board of Governors, College of Engineering Pune (COEP). Dr Sahasrabudhe will take over the charge of AICTE Chairman from July 2015 for a term of 3 years.

Proposed 6 New IIMs: Government of India doubles the intake; decides to launch maiden batch with 140 students
Approved in the Cabinet meeting on June 24, 2015 all the proposed 6 new IIMs will now have an increased intake of 140 students in their maiden PGP batch 2015-17 instead of 60 as announced earlier. Apart from this the cities to establish these IIMs have also been finalized in the meeting.
