Registering early does improve your chances of getting your preferred test city, as city allotment is based on availability. This is the only practical advantage of early registration. But early registration has no impact on your CAT percentile or IIM shortlisting.

Yes, but only within the CAT 2026 Application Form Correction Window, which is expected to open in late September. Corrections are permitted only for photograph, signature, and test city preferences. Personal details, academic marks, and work experience cannot be changed after submission. There is no fee for corrections during this window.

Documents required for CAT 2026 application form include Class 10 and Class 12 marksheets, graduation marksheets or certificate, date of birth certificate, address proof, passport size photograph, scanned signature, caste category certificate (if applicable), PwD certificate (if applicable), and credit/debit card or net banking credentials for fee payment. Final year students also need a certificate from their Principal, HoD, or Director.

To be eligible for CAT 2026, a candidate must have a minimum of 50% marks in graduation (45% for SC/ST/PwD candidates). Final year graduation students are also eligible to apply. There is no age limit for CAT registration. Candidates should note that individual IIMs have their own additional eligibility criteria for MBA admissions beyond the basic CAT eligibility requirement.

IIM Indore is expected to conduct CAT 2026. The convening IIM is officially confirmed in the CAT notification released on the last Sunday of July. For CAT 2025, IIM Kozhikode was the convening IIM.
