PGPWE is a 2-year MBA program where regular live classes are held over electronic mode, and the participants experience in-campus immersion for selected days. It is designed for professionals who wish to revisit an academic environment without taking a career break. PGPWE participants continue to work while they study, and thus the application of classroom learning is instantaneous.
MBA WE is designed for professionals who aspire for greater roles in their organisations. This general management program is beneficial to professionals in business and industry, not-for-profit organizations, government and policy, research, and academics. After successfully completing the course, the participants would get MBA degree.

The admission process for MBA-WE will be conducted in two rounds. The process will involve the following steps:
- Filling of the application form by interested candidates
- The candidates not having valid CAT/GMAT score will need to appear for WE-MAT
- Candidates will be shortlisted for Interview Round. The applicants will be informed about this process, once they are shortlisted for PI round
- PI round will be conducted in Online mode
- Successful and wait listed candidates will be informed
MBAWE curriculum is spread over 24 months and is taught in hybrid mode – Online as well as class room sessions. The program offers key specialization areas to choose from. While regular live classes are held over electronic mode, the class room sessions are held full-day on weekends, or on pre-selected evening hours during the week. The classroom teaching days require time away from work.
MBAWE program employs technology to enhance learning. Besides, IIM Shillong stresses in-person participation in classroom discussions, considered critical to the learning experience. MBAWE students enhance learning experience in-campus immersion. MBAWE program, being a two-year master degree program, allows the students to pursue higher studies like PhD after successful completion.
- Application for admission to IIM Shillong PGPWE programme should be filled and submitted online before the last date
- Application fee to apply for admission is Rs 3,000/-. The fee is non-refundable and non-adjustable
- A Bachelor’s Degree or its equivalent in any discipline with minimum 50% aggregate marks or an equivalent CGPA [45% in case of the candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST) and Differently Abled (DA)].
- Minimum 3 years of full-time work experience after graduation.
- There will be written eligibility test for admission – Working Executive Management Aptitude Test (WE-MAT). The WE-MAT would follow a similar pattern as the Common Admission Test (CAT) conducted by IIMs. However, those having either of minimum 50 percentile in CAT or score of at least 500 in GMAT are eligible to be exempted from the above test.
- IIM Shillong will consider last 2 years CAT performance or last 5 years valid GMAT score.
