XIM University MBA Urban Management 2027 admission is for Batch 2027-29 of the two-year, full-time and fully residential MBA in Urban Management and Governance (MBA-UMG), run by the School of Human Settlements at the New Campus in Harirajpur. The university calls it a "management-plus" programme: full functional management training, plus the skills to manage cities, urban infrastructure and public systems.
XIM University MBA Urban Management 2027 Programme Highlights
As the bulletin notes, cities account for two-thirds of environmental and climate change issues, and rapid urbanisation is raising demand for managers in infrastructure financing, urban systems and green transitions. MBA urban management and governance graduates work in business, consulting, government, international development institutions, research organisations and think tanks.
- Urban Management Municipal Immersion (UMMI): a six-week attachment to a municipal body, development authority or city SPV such as Bhubaneswar Smart City Ltd. Students prepare a City Report and work with urban managers on solutions.
- Summer internship: eight to ten weeks after the first year. Past hosts include EY, JLL, NIUA, UN-Habitat, KPMG, PwC, WRI India, CRISIL, ICRA, IPE Global, Janaagraha, HUDCO and ICLEI.

Apply: XIM University MBA-UMG admission uses the common XIM University application form, and the last date to apply is 15 December 2026.
Fee: Rs 1,900 for the first programme or test option, Rs 850 for the second and Rs 400 for each additional option.
Selection: shortlisting on academic merit and/or test score, then Group Discussion, Writing Ability Test and/or Personal Interview.

XIM University MBA-UMG eligibility for Batch 2027-29 has more routes than any other XIM University MBA, as per the XIM University PG FAQ for Admission 2027.
Degree: a bachelor's degree in any discipline, with at least 55% aggregate marks from a UGC-listed or recognised university.
Test route: a score in XAT 2027, CAT 2026, GMAT (2025 or 2026), NMAT 2026, XGMT 2027, GATE 2026 or 2027, or CEED 2027.
Direct routes without a test score: a B.Tech with at least 70% aggregate; a degree in Architecture, Planning or Geography with at least 60%; or the 1st, 2nd or 3rd rank in the undergraduate programme.
Final-year students: eligible if they complete all degree requirements by 15 June 2027.
Work experience and age: work experience is not mandatory, and there is no upper age limit.
Candidates are shortlisted on academic merit and/or admission test scores. Shortlisted candidates attend Group Discussion, Writing Ability Test and/or Personal Interview, offline in one of 12 cities if the rounds are held in person.
