Lal Bahadur Shastri Institute of Management, Delhi, a premier Business school in the country has launched Two-Year Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) in Artificial intelligence & Data Science (AI & DS). This programme is first of its kind in the country and caters to a niche area that is currently an integral part of world business and innovative management education.
AI & DS learnings draw huge attention currently among the industry and business leaders. Sensing the demand of such expertise in the country, LBSIM has taken this major initiative and has commenced the programme from the academic year 2021. The programme has received the approval of AICTE, Ministry of Education, Government of India.
It aims to create a cadre based of professionals by equipping them with a holistic approach of solving problems in a highly volatile complex business world by using Artificial Intelligence and state-of-art Data Science techniques. This innovative programme by the Institute is unique in the way that it integrates into the curriculum cutting-edge AI learnings with Data Science by preparing students to apply these powerful tools in their professional careers.
Besides the technical skills, the programme ensures inculcation of value-based management skills with a humane and pragmatic approach for effective contribution to the society and corporate world.
LBSIM Delhi PGDM AI & DS Admission Step by Step Process is given below:
Step-1: Application submission for Eligible Entrance Exams. LBSIM will accept CAT, XAT and GMAT (last four years) score for admission to all its PGDM programmes. You first need to apply and appear in at least one of the above entrance exams and score well to clear the prescribed LBSIM Delhi cut offs
Step-2: Apply Online or Offline separately for LBSIM Admission with requisite application fees of Rs.2000/-
Step-3: Check LBSIM Delhi Shortlist. Candidates are short-listed based on valid CAT/XAT/GMAT scores, prior academic performance, work experience, and other information disclosed in the Application form
Step-4: Participate in Final Selection GD-PI-WAT. Shortlisted candidates will be called for Group Discussion, Extempore/Written Analysis Test and Personal Interview which is held in different cities.
Step-5: Merit List Generation. Result of the selected candidates shall be displayed on the Institute’s Notice Board and uploaded on the Institute’s website
Step-6: Final Admission Offer Acceptance. Successful candidates will be intimated of their final selection by LBSIM Delhi. The result will also be uploaded on LBSIM’s website. Selected candidate should accept the admission offer and pay the requisite admission fees by the last date.
The Two-Year Full-Time Post Graduate Diploma in Management (Artificial Intelligence & Data Science) programme comprises of six trimesters. During the first year, the emphasis is primarily on core (compulsory) courses, to build a foundation of conceptual, technical and managerial skills, required for pursuing specialized study in various domains of Artificial Intelligence and Data Science. These core courses help students to build solid technical foundations along with core management concepts. The courses cover Management areas like Marketing, OB/HR, Economics, Accounting & Finance, Operations, General Management as well as covering Artificial Intelligence and Data Science domains. A lot of emphasis is on hands on training on softwares for implementing the concepts taught.
PGDM Student connect programme is offered before the commencement of regular classes to help incoming candidates cope with the rigours of PGDM Programme by offering courses that bridge the knowledge gap between the undergraduate degree (in different domains) & PGDM Curriculum.
In the second year, students opt for two elective areas in addition to 11 compulsory courses. This enables them to pursue in-depth learning in the areas of their specialization. The elective areas offered are AI for Marketing, AI for Financial Applications and Advance AI. During this year, students also undertake a Capstone Project study under the guidance of a faculty member. The capstone project spans three trimesters for developing a portfolio that helps students to undertake real life project for data insights using AI & DS techniques for managerial implementation. Participants are also required to complete online certifications which carry credits.
Each student is required to undertake summer internship in a company of repute for the duration of 8-10 weeks as part of the course curriculum after the third trimester examination. In its PGDM AI & DS Programme, LBSIM offers choice of specializations from the areas of AI for Marketing, AI for Financial Applications, Advanced AI

Offline Application Process
The Information Brochure containing the Application Form is available with the Admission Coordinator, Lal Bahadur Shastri Institute of Management, Delhi on all working days between 9.30 am and 5.30 pm at LBSIM Dwarka Campus, on payment of Application Fees of Rs.2,000/- in cash or by Demand Draft.
The demand draft should be drawn in favour of 'Lal Bahadur Shastri Institute of Management' Delhi, payable at New Delhi.
Completed application forms with requisite fee should reach LBSIM Delhi on or before the last date.
Online Application Process
Candidates can apply Online also. For online application submission, candidates need to pay Rs. 2,000/- either through Credit/Debit card/ Net Banking Or UPI.
LBSIM PGDM AI & DS Admission Eligibility Criteria have following key requirements:
- Graduates in any discipline with minimum 3 years bachelor’s degree with 50% marks
- Candidates appearing for the final year of the bachelor’s degree/equivalent qualification examination can also apply.
- Candidates must declare and maintain a valid and unique email account and a phone number throughout the selection process.
Candidates are required to take the Common Admission Test (CAT) conducted by IIMs or XAT conducted by XLRI, or should have a valid GMAT score (taken during last four years). - Foreign students, PIO and NRI sponsored candidates are also eligible and are required to take the Graduate Management Aptitude Test (GMAT) at a test centre outside India.
- Indian residents who have appeared for GMAT will be required to furnish their GMAT scores while applying and should provide an attested copy of the GMAT score sheet to the Admission Office for verification at the time of personal interview.

LBSIM Delhi offers various scholarships to the students in its PGDM programmes. Following Merit-cum-Means Scholarships shall be awarded by the Institute to meritorious students from Economically Weaker Sections:
- Merit-cum-Means Scholarships of Rs. 1,00,000/- each for first-year and second-year students enrolled in PGDM programmes
- The Director appoints a committee comprising of faculty members, admin staff member/s, and others to choose the students who will receive these scholarships.
