Fulfilling the long pending demand of establishing an IIM in Delhi, IIM Sambalpur has taken the initiative and has opened its new campus in South Delhi on May 6, 2023. Despite being the National Capital, New Delhi so far did not have any Indian Institute of Management (IIM), although the National Capital Region (NCR) nearby had IIM Rohtak and IIM Lucknow campus at Noida.
