India is set to welcome its 21st Indian Institute of Management (IIM), and the first one in Mumbai. The amendment bill to the IIM Act, known as the IIM (Amendment) Bill 2023, is passed by both houses of Parliament. Lok Sabha passed the bill on August 4 and Rajya Sabha has passed the bill on August 8, 2023. In a day or two the bill is likely to get President's consent and this will rename NITIE as IIM Mumbai. It will follow all the system and procedures for MBA admission 2024 as are followed by other 20 IIMs.  

With the rapid rise of ChatGPT and other tools, Artificial Intelligence (AI) has become a key boardroom discussion the World over. So how are Indian companies leveraging AI... According to an IIM Ahmedabad (IIMA) and Boston Consulting Group (BCG) report, most Indian companies are lagging behind. The study reveals that select Indian BFSI companies, particularly banks and new-age NBFCs, have very high AI Maturity, on par with global frontrunners. Sharp Increase in IIM MBA Fees 
Since 2022, IIMs have substantially increased their MBA fees. Last year, almost all the IIMs have increased their MBA fees in recent years. Take for example IIM Mumbai, earlier NITIE Mumbai. This year, IIM Mumbai has increased its MBA fee for 2024-26 batch by more than Rs.7 lakhs! This is a 43 percent increase over the last year fees! This is a clear case of opportunism where IIM Mumbai has increased its fees exorbitantly to milk its newly acquired IIM tag.
