IIM Lucknow, the CAT 2017 convening IIM proposes to release CAT 2017 notification with more details by the end of July and as per the tradition the CAT Notification is expected to be out in newspapers on July 30. Prof Neeraj Dwivedi, Convener CAT 2017 and faculty at IIM Lucknow has clarified CAT-2017 notification is likely to appear in newspapers towards end of July.

With the change of guard, Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT) breaks its legacy of punctuality and time bound schedule of activities for conducting its entrance exam in 2017 for MBA (IB) 2018-20 batch by delaying the release of exam notification. IIFT has earned the reputation of releasing its MBA entrance exam notification on July 15 and conducting the entrance exam on last or 3rd Sunday of November during past many years.

CAT 2017 exam date, beginning of CAT online registration process and the last date to apply online for CAT exam will be officially made available with the release of CAT notification and launch of CAT website in the last week of July. The rumours that CAT application process may also go offline this year have no substance as the IIMs will continue with the existing system of CAT online application process only.

CAT syllabus for CAT 2017 may not be much different from the last 2 years of CAT exam, although the question content, topics and sectional composition may be different. CAT toppers and CAT preparation experts suggest to prepare for CAT synchronizing it with revised CAT syllabus.

CAT Exam Syllabus has never had any boundaries and this fact also applies to define the CAT 2017 exam syllabus. CAT Syllabus is based on past trend of CAT exams and the CAT exam syllabus is the outcome of the topics which have earlier appeared in CAT exam.

CAT 2017 official website iimcat.ac.in, is proposed to be live with the release of CAT 2017 notification. According to Prof Neeraj Dwivedi, Convener CAT 2017 and admission chair and faculty at IIM Lucknow, CAT-2017 notification is likely to appear in newspapers towards end of July. Immediately after the release of notification the CAT website iimcat.ac.in will be enabled by IIM Lucknow with all the key information and guidelines for CAT 2017 exam.

CAT 2017 is the second Common Admission Test (CAT) being convened by IIM Lucknow. The first CAT, conducted by IIM Lucknow was in 2010 as a computer based exam. All the IIMs who have convened CAT 2nd time have brought about more changes and totally revamped the CAT exam structure and content since 2009, although every time the changes in CAT have the objectives to improve academic and gender diversity in IIM class rooms.

To promote and strengthen the case based pedagogy for management students, IIM Ahmedabad Case Centre and Harvard Business Publishing (HBP) organized the 5th Case Method Teaching Seminar (CMTS) at Symbiosis Institute of Business Management (SIBM) Bengaluru on July 07 & 08, 2017. The Seminar Faculty were Prof. V.G. Narayanan from Harvard Business School and Prof. Sanjay Verma and Prof. Sunil Sharma from IIM Ahmedabad. More than 50 academicians from prominent business schools from across India, Oman & Nepal participated in the Seminar.
