CAT 2014 has brought many changes right from the day of its notification appeared in news papers on July 27, 2014. CAT 2014 as compared to earlier CAT years has brought many surprises and changes in its process of registration, selection of test centre, conduct of test, duration of test, pattern of test, declaration of result, but it has also revamped the entire CAT exam.

CAT 2014: More candidates in each session

Xavier Aptitude Test (XAT) 2015 for admission to XLRI, XIMB and other well reputed B schools will be conducted by XLRI on behalf of Xavier Association of Management Institutes (XAMI) on January 4, 2015. XLRI has been conducting XAT for the last 60 years at All India level in the paper pencil mode to provide level playing field for the XAT aspirants coming from all backgrounds.

XAT 2015 opened the registration and application process on August 12, 2014 and will close it on November 22, 2014.

120 Premium B schools will shortlist based on XAT 2015 scores

Declaring the result and scores of CMAT-2015-16 (First Test) conducted online from 25-Sep, 2014 to 28-Sep, 2014 All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has announced the All India Merit list based on the scores obtained by the candidates in computer based Common Management Admission Test. The CMAT merit list indicates Roll number, Rank and the Score of all the candidates. CMAT-2015-16(First Test) score will remain valid for the admissions in academic year 2015-16.

AICTE declares Raw scores with Percentile scores

With the CAT 2014 test day guide having been made available to the aspirants by CAT Centre 2014, it has been made clear that Candidates will not at all have the facility to request the CAT Centre to edit and change the exam slot and day according to their convenience. Since number of CAT 2014 takers are also going to appear in IIFT 2014 entrance test, they find them in a fix now. On the top of it, they are unable to get any amendment made in the exam city, day or slot as the same lies on the mercy of CAT Centre 2014 and has been printed in the Admit Card.

A merit list of 43212 candidates has been announced by AICTE for the candidates who have found their names in the merit list. Second CMAT for admission session 2015-16 is proposed in the month of February 2015 details of which are yet to be announced.

CAT 2014 proposes to introduce number of changes in the exam pattern as revealed in the practice test made available on CAT 2014 website on October 28, 2014. Going by the pattern reflected in the practice test, the Verbal Ability part in second section appears to get a total face change with number and type of questions. According to Prof S K Agarwal, Mentor and expert on Verbal Ability for CAT preparation it is the Verbal Ability that bears most the brunt of changes in CAT as there is not much scope for CAT paper setters to bring too many changes in Quant and DI section.

AICTE keeping its promise has declared CMAT Sep 2014 results on October 30, 2014. All India merit list has displayed the fate of 43212 candidates who have scored between the highest marks 323 to the lowest 40 out of 400 in CMAT first test for admission session 2015-16. 11 Candidates have scored 300 to 323 marks.

AICTE announced the CMAT result in the early morning of October 30, 2014 and has awarded raw marks along with the percentile. Accordingly the candidate who has scored 323 marks has been awarded 100 percentile.
