The biggest and most popular MBA entrance exam of the year, CAT 2011, is ending today, 18 November 2011. The exam which received 2.5 lakh registrations had commenced on 22 October. In these 20 days of testing, Prometric, the exam executing agency, reported a glitch free test with no major complaint received from test takers.

In the year 2011, IIM Calcutta continued the good work and maintained the success. There have been some positive trends, which have contributed to the success of the big MBA entrance exam this year.

XLRI Jamshedpur has successfully concluded the Summer Internship Placements 2012. 77 recruiters participated with 365 offers made to a batch of 240 students. 112 companies had confirmed participation this year in the Summer Internship Placements.

The average stipend for the internship period this year was Rs. 123,000, an increase of 10% over last year. The median stipend for the internship period this year was Rs. 100,000. Microsoft, ITC, Standard Chartered, Aditya Birla Group and Tata Motors were the largest recruiters.

Management Development Institute - MDI Gurgaon Final admission round consists of Group Discussion followed by Personal interview and has no specific WAT component in final admission round, although 5 minutes are awarded to GD participants to write the proceedings of GD in 100 words.

The Day 3 of CAT 2011 was held on Tuesday, October 25, 2011. The number of test takers saw a marginal rise of 40 candidates, compared to Day 2. The total number of candidates who took the test on Day 3 was 6,743. The number of test takers on Day 2 was 6, 703. The third day too saw a glitch-free test without any major report of technical malfunctioning at the test centers.

So far, CAT has been taken by 19, 136 test takers in these 3 test days. The total number of registered candidates for CAT 2011 is 2.5 lakh candidates.

CAT 2011, which started on 22 October, is on a smooth drive till now, with no major glitches reported from any of the test centers. The fourth test day is today, 28 October 2011. There are still 16 more test days to go as per the CAT test schedule. During these days thousands of MBA aspirants across the country would strive to bell the CAT.

After the successful completion of Day 1 of CAT 2011 on 22 October, the Day 2, which was Monday, October 24, 2011, also saw a successful conduct of the test with 6,703 candidates taking the test across India at different test centers. Compared to Day 1, on Day 2 1,013 more candidates have taken the test. Like the Day 1, the second day too did not face any major tech problem.

CAT 2011 started from Saturday, October 22, 2011 without any major glitch. Prometric mentions that 5,690 candidates out of total 2.05 lakh registered candidates have taken the test on the first day of CAT 2011.

Prof. Janakiraman Moorthy, CAT 2011 Convener and IIM Calcutta faculty mentioned that there has not been any major issue reported. The Day 1 of CAT 2011 has been taken by 5,690 candidates and no major technical issues have been reported. The overall difficulty level has been reported as tough.
