BIMTECH Bhubaneswar to open in July; AICTE approves 120 seats

The Birla Institute of Management Technology (BIMTECH) will launch its Bhubaneswar campus in July, 2013. According to BIMTECH, AICTE has already approved a total of 120 seats for management programmes to be conducted at the Bhubaneswar campus.

The second campus of BIMTECH in Bhubaneswar is being launched when the institute is celebrating its Silver Jubilee year in 2013.

Employer hiring up 4% for Business School Graduates: GMAC survey

The job market continues to improve for graduate business school degree holders, as more employers plan to hire MBAs and specialized business masters talent than last year, according to the 2013 Corporate Recruiters Survey carried by Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC) and its survey partners, the European Foundation for Management Development (EFMD) and the MBA Career Services Council (MBACSC).

The annual employer and graduate surveys, looking at the current employment outlook from both sides of the market, were released today by GMAC.

Online classes answer to faculty shortage: Prez@ LPU Convocation

President Dr Pranab Mukherjee has asked quality seeking Indian University and Colleges to focus on technology-based learning and utilise new concepts like e-classes to counter challenges of faculty shortage in their institutes. He was addressing 3rd convocation of Lovely Professional University (LPU) in Jalandhar on May 20, 2013.

While Dr Mukherjee agreed that educational institutions in India are facing huge shortage of faculty, he said that this problem can be countered with the use of new technology like online classes.

SC ruling on AICTE: PGDM institutes wish to remain in AICTE ambit

In a meeting held under the aegis Education Promotion Society for India (EPSI) in New Delhi on May 19, representatives from 40 leading management institutes have resolved that AICTE must continue to monitor and regulate management education system. However, the institutes have sought some relief from MHRD and AICTE to help them become more competitive in a rapidly changing scenario. EPSI will be making a representation to MHRD, and will also be engaging with AICTE to help the sector grow.
