Who is Navya Naveli Nanda and what is this controversy?
Navya Naveli Nanda is the granddaughter of Superstar Amitabh Bachchan. Her father Nikhil Nanda is a businessman and mother Shweta Bachchan is the daughter of Amitabh Bachchan. According to her LinkedIn account, Navya Nanda has done Bachelor of Arts - BA, Digital Technology from Fordham University during 2016 – 2020. She has also done internships at several large companies including Facebook, Ogilvy and Godrej Industries. She is currently and entrepreneurs as the Founder of ‘Aara Health’.

AICTE Chairman Prof. T G Sitharam, a Reformer Promoting Growth of Management Education

Dr T G Sitharam is the Chairman of All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). In his leadership, AICTE has taken many forward-looking steps including the integration of Under Graduate Management Education (BBA/BMS courses) within its purview and the release of model curriculum for BBA courses.

Indian Institute of Management Udaipur

Established in 2011 by Government of India, IIM Udaipur was one of the fastest-growing management schools in the country with a flourishing research ecosystem. IIM Udaipur runs 2 Years full time MBA Program, and many Executive MBA programs.

IIM Udaipur NIRF Rankings slipped by 6 ranks from #16 in NIRF 2023 to #22 in NIRF 2024. Check table 1 (a) below. Indeed, it is disappointing to see IIM Udaipur falling out of Top 20 Ranked B-schools in NIRF 2024 Ranking.

In last few years, Indian Institute of Managements (IIMs) have rampantly increased their MBA fees. According to MBAUniverse.com analysis, the average increase in IIM fees have far outstripped the inflation. However, the average salaries offered during Placements 2024 at almost all IIMs have gone down. As results, students are facing hardships, as almost 80% of students at top B-schools pay their MBA fees through education loans with high interest rates. 

Conducted by Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC), NMAT 2024, an important MBA entrance exam is scheduled from November 5 to December 20, 2024.  For NMAT 2024, GMAC has announced many changes in the exam including changes in application form, shorter testing window, single testing mode, process of self scheduling for NMAT among others.

MICA Ahmedabad
At the top of the charts is MICA Ahmedabad which has significantly improve its ranking in spite of being a niche B-school with a strong focus on marketing and allied areas. MICA has improved its rankings in NIRF Management Ranking 2024 by 5 rankings – moving up from #37 to #32. Check table 1 (a) below.

Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT) New Delhi

At the top of the charts is Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT) New Delhi. IIFT jumped by, hold your breath!, 12 ranks to get ranked at #15 in NIRF Management Ranking 2024. Check table 1 (A) below.

The high RoI Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai, the oldest institute for professional social work education offers low fee M.A. programs with high placements. Its M.A. HRM & LR program is one of the most sought after management programs and is at par with IIMs, XLRI and other top B-schools. While the total program fee is only Rs.185,000, average and highest package in TISS Placements are as high as Rs.27.22 LPA and Rs.49 LPA respectively. TISS Mumbai has been ranked #58 among top 200 universities in India in Govt of India NIRF Ranking 2024.
