IIM Bangalore appears to be in mood of doing some serious business on CAT 2016 as the first CAT 2016 group meeting to finalize the modilities to convene Common Admission Test (CAT) 2016 under the convenership of Prof Rajendra K Bandi, faculty IIM Bangalore and CAT 2016 convener is going to be held this week. The CAT group meeting will decide on the modalities, issue of notification, dates of CAT 2016 exam, its notification date among other key points to convene CAT 2016.

All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has asked all the universities and colleges offering 5 year BBA/MBA dual degree programme not to go for admission from the year 2016. As such the class 12 passed students aspiring to take admission in dual degree BBA/MBA in AICTE approved institutes will not be allowed to fulfil their dream without appearing again in the MBA entrance test after completing their graduation.

Apart from other entrance exam score like GMAT, ISB has decided to accept GRE scores also. Competition to get into the one-year Post Graduate Programme in Management at ISB was intense this year with the School seeing a 28% increase in applications compared to the previous year.

Registration for MAHCET CAP 2016 is going to close on June 3 and as such only 3 days are left to finalise your registration for admission to JBIMS Mumbai and other 400 B-schools of Maharashtra through CAP 2016. Candidates with scores obtained in any of the All India MBA entrance exams or in MAHCET 2016, can be allotted a seat in JBIMS or other top rated B-school.

Centralized Admission Process (CAP) 2016 for admission to MBA/MMS 2016-18 batch at JBIMS, SIMSREE, N L Dalmiya, PUMBA and 400 B-schools has already begun on May 25 and will be over on June 3, 2016. There are still 3 days to apply as a new candidate for those who have not registered to seek admission in top B-schools on the basis of their scores in MAHCET/CAT/MAT/CMAT/ATMA/ XAT.

Anguished with the move by Flipkart to defer placement of its 18 students for 6 months, IIM Ahmedabad is drawing fresh guidelines for future recruiters who may come for placement at the top rated B-school. The guidelines will aim to stop recurrence of any such deferred placement by the recruiters. It appears that not only IIM Ahmedabad but other IIMs and IITs have also not taken the placement deferment move of Flipkart in good taste. Other IIMs are also expected to join IIM Ahmedabad against the policy of deferred placement being adopted by many recruiters at present.

After declaration of May MAT 2016 result only one exam which still remains to be conducted for admission to MBA 2016-18 programme is KMAT 2016 to be held on May 29, 2016. With your scores in various entrance exams like CAT/XAT/CMAT, if you find that you cannot get admission to one of the good B-schools in the country in 2016, MAT and KMAT give you an opportunity to improve your chances if you have scored high in MAT 2016 May exam or expect high score in KMAT 2016. But again, you stand no chances to get IIMs, FMS, JBIMS, XLRI, SPJIMR, MDI, IMI, IMT or NITIE.

The Directorate of Technical Education (DTE) Maharashtra vide its earlier notification ref RNI No. MAHBIL /2009/37831 dated March 11, 2016 made it clear that MAT Feb 2016 scores are acceptable in Centralized Admission process (CAP) 2016 and now with the opening of registration for CAP 2016, DTE has further revised its registration form simply asking for MAT 2016 scores instead of only MAT Feb 2016 percentile.
