Despite getting the new chairman Dr Anil D. Sahasrabudhe AICTE has not woken up to release notification for CMAT 2016 (first test). All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) the regulator of technical and management education in India had the legacy of announcing first CMAT for the academic session in the coming year as early as in the first week of July every year.

Till now CAT exam used to have only 2 sections. The first section contained questions on Quantitative Ability & Data Interpretation (Quant & DI) and the second section consisted of questions on Verbal Ability, Reading Comprehension and Logical reasoning. Both the sections had equal number of questions and equal weightage. CAT 2015 however, is going to have 3 sections to be solved in 1 hour each.

Bharat Ratna Dr APJ Abdul Kalam, the 11th President of India and popularly known as Missile Man and Peoples President passed away on July 27, 2015 after getting a severe cardiac arrest while in interaction with the students at Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Shillong. He was 83 years old and was to celebrate the next Birthday on October 15, 2015. Post Presidency he served as visiting professor at 3 IIMs. Sudden demise of Dr Kalam is a great loss for the country and for MBA students at IIM Ahmedabad, Indore and Shillong where he was the visiting Professor.

With no increase in number of questions, the additional 10 minutes in CAT 2015 could prove to be a bounty while concluding and submitting the test as the test takers may not have to fight against the shortage of time while reviewing the questions at the last moment. Subsequent to its ownership having been taken over by GMAC, it is not only the name of NMAT that stands changed as NMAT by GMAC but the exam also has brought with it number of user friendly changes to smoothen the test taking process. NMAT by GMAC will the first exam after transfer of ownership of NMAT to GMAC and as such without changing the ingredients of the test NMAT 2016 will be an exam with a user friendly difference.

CAT 2015 exam notification, out in the wee hours today on July 26, 2015 in all leading newspapers has brought many firsts and changes in the scheduling, pattern and other details of the exam. Moving away from the past years, the notification shares number of surprises, changes in the process of registration, selection of test centre, conduct of test, duration of test, pattern of test, and declaration of result for CAT 2015.
