The number of applicants for CAT has been continuously witnessing a decline since the past few years. The CAT 2010 saw a total of 2.06 lakh candidates registering for the exam. This was a drop of around 15 per cent compared to the CAT 2009 registration figures which was 2.42 lakh. The CAT 2009 registration figures had similarly witnessed a marginal dip in comparison to CAT 2008. The registered takers of CAT 2008 were 2.46 lakh.

Xavier Institute of Management Bhubaneswar (XIMB) has announced its completion of Xuberance14 with 100% placements for the PGDM (BM) batch of 2012-2014. The average annual compensation stood at Rs. 12.08 Lakhs per annum.

Highlights of XIMB Placements 2014:

1. Xuberance 14 saw the batch of 176 candidates of PGDM program participating in the placement process.

2. 54 companies participated in Xuberance 14 of which 18 were new recruiters.

3. 20% of students have been extended PPO/PPI from their summer internship organizations.

Final admission round in MBA admission 2014 in highly ranked B schools is passing through a different innovative trend than what continued in the past. Number of times candidates find themselves trapped in the jugglery of words in WAT which may or may not be a part of Group discussion. A few B schools have started focusing more on Written Ability Test followed by Personal Interview while a few of others have introduced Psychometric tests, situation analysis, GD on caselet followed by summary writing and PI, Group exercises and so on.

The Faculty of Management Studies, Delhi has had a legacy of securing stellar placements, both in terms of the compensation and the wide variety of profiles on offer. This years placement season has continued this legacy, securing 212 offers for a batch where 205 students participated in the placement process, ensuring 100% placements. Average salary of total offers increased to Rs.16.18 lakhs per annum.
37 first-time recruiters visited the campus this season taking the total number of companies participating to 107. A total of 38 students received Pre-placement offers.
