The month of June is here indicating that the CAT 2011 exam is not very far away. Though the dates of the exam has not been announced yet, but following the last years pattern, you can guess that its going to be held between October and November and hence you need to prepare accordingly. The MBA programs offered in India are mostly of two years duration, but there are B-schools which offer MBA programs of the duration of one year as well.

In India, there are few B-schools which offer MBA of one year duration. The popular names are SPJIMR Mumbai, Great Lakes Institute of Management (GLIM) Chennai, ISB Hyderabad and School of Inspired Leadership (SOIL) Gurgaon.

As part of our Topper Mantras for CAT 2011 series, we present to you the interview of CAT 2010 topper Anustup Chattopadhyay. Anustup scored 96.3 percentile in CAT 2010 and 96.7 percentile in XAT 2011. He got final admission call from XLRI Jamshedpur and IMT Ghaziabad. He has decided to join XLRI Jamshedpur for the HRM program. Anustup has done his graduation in Electrical Engineering from NIT Bhopal.

Q: How many GD&PI did you take part in?

While the top league B schools have announced their final list of selected candidates some time back, the other leading B-schools are still in the process of inviting applications and some are busy in conducting GD-PI rounds.

One of the major dilemmas that are faced by management education aspirants is related to selecting the right stream of management education. The question that occurs first and foremost is: Should I do MBA or a PGDM?

It is a myth in our country that MBA is much better than PGDM, just because PGDM is a Diploma and MBA is a Degree. But which one more accepted by the industry?

If you have scored a whopping 100 percentile in CAT exam, and have performed decently in the GD, PI and Essay Writing rounds, a seat in the apex B-School of the country is reserved for you. Here we are talking about CAT 2010 topper Deepak Mehta, who scored 100 percentile in the exam and secured calls for GD, PI and Essay Writing from IIM Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Calcutta, Lucknow, Kozhikode and FMS. After receiving the final admission call from IIM Ahmedabad and IIM Calcutta, Deepak has decided to join IIM Ahmedabad.
