CAT 2013: Only 1.74 lakhs took the test

Not all the registered number of candidates took the CAT 2013 and the total number of absentees in the test was more than twenty thousand. Revealing the facts, IIMs and Prometric have admitted that although 194,516 was the number registered for CAT 2013 but actual test takers were only 173,738. The rate of non test takers has however remained the same at 11% in 2012 and 2013.

SPJIMR Mumbai applications jump 25% in comparison to previous year

S.P. Jain Institute of Management and Research (SPJIMR) announced that number of applications for their flagships two year PGDM program have jumped 25 per cent as compared to last year.

The SPJIMRs PGDM online application process for 240 seats was launched on September 15 and is scheduled to close on November 18. The interview process will begin in January 2014.

MAH CET 2014 Exam pattern and updates

Directorate of Technical Education, Mumbai shall conduct the Common Entrance Test for Admission to First Year MBA/MMS for 2014-2015 in Maharashtra.

According to a notification released by Director of technical education Dr. Subhash Mahajan, 85% seats in the government run and aided MBA /MMS institutes in the state and 65% seats at private unaided and minority institutes will be filled through the MAH-MBA / MMS-CET from 2014. Another 15% seats will be filled through the all India quota.

CAT 2013: Five key trends

Since the year 2009 when CAT went green, 2013 could be recorded in the CAT history as the year of smooth and successful completion of examination during the five years as it had less disruption, less technical snags, least number of question errors, a very balanced test and above all had no surprising elements.

The Indian Institutes of Management and its CAT testing partner, Prometric have shared with MBA Universe that a total of 194,516 candidates completed testing in 76 secure test centres across 40 cities over a 20-day testing window from 16 October to 11 November 2013.

Boston Professor Sushil Vachani to be new IIM-B Director

Prof. Sushil Vachani , professor of strategy and policy at Boston University School of Management has been appointed as the new director of Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore, according to the IIMB sources.
The Union Human Resource Development Ministry has approved the appointment of Prof. Sushil Vachani as the newdirectorof Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Bangalore. His name was cleared by an appointment committee of the Cabinet, headed by the Prime Minister.
