My date with CAT was on the cool morning of the Wednesday, October 16, the first session of CAT 2013. As I walked closer to the test centre at Jaipuria Institute of Management in Noida, my test centre, the first thing I saw were the displayed banners CAT 2013 Test Centre to enable the candidates to locate their designated examination centre.

Leading business publication, The Economist has published its 11th MBA Rankings. Chicago Universitys Booth School of Business has retained its first place inthis annual ranking of full-time MBA programmes. IIM Ahmedabad, the only Indian B-school in the ranking, is ranked at 39th position, moving up from 56th last year.

CAT 2013 is off to a good start. According to IIMs and Prometric, there was no glitch reported in any centre across the country. CAT 2013 is now underway. The first exam for Day 1, on October 16, got over this afternoon at 12.30PM. According to students, the overall difficulty level of CAT continues to be on the tougher side. Students also said that Quantitative section was tough and tricky while the Verbal section was easier.

Around 4200 aspirants across India will sit for Common Admission Test (CAT) 2013 today, the first day of the exam. CAT 2013 will be conducted in a 20 day window from October 16th to November 11th, 2013 in Prometric centres across 40 cities.

NITIE Mumbai conducted its one day socio-educational event, Mahamandi 2013 on 12th October 2013 with the help of an NGO, Navnirmiti.
