FMS inaugurates new academic session of MBA & MBA (MS) programmes
Former President of India Dr A P J Abdul Kalam delivered the inaugural address on the occasion. Mr Deepak Mohlah, MD, TMI India and alumnus of FMS was the Guest of Honour and Prof S K Tandon, Pro-Vice Chancellor, Delhi University chaired the session. FMS Dean Dr J K Mitra welcomed the students to FMS.
According to information shared by FMS with MBAUniverse.com, this year, FMS has admitted 101 students in its MBA programme, and 48 students in its MBA (Management of Services) programme.
Green is the new mantra at ISB
On this occasion students of ISB welcomed Shrenik Rao, an environment activist, to the campus. Rao is in the midst of a cycling tour from Kanyakumari to Kashmir to increase awareness of the need to conserve the environment. He visited the ISB to discuss with students his perspective on conserving the environment.
Participating in the event, Shrenik said, I am happy that the ISB students realise the significance of conserving the environment. Conserving the environment has become a must for all of us as a community.
IIFT inaugurates new academic session; 114 students join Delhi, 60 Kolkata
The batch strength this year is 114 students for IIFTs Delhi campus. Another 60 students have joined the IIFTs Kolkata campus.
Mr K T Chako, Director IIFT, welcomed the new batch along with Prof. Satinder Bhatia, Chairperson, Graduate studies division at IIFT. Prof. Ravi Shankar, Chairperson, International Collaborations and Capacity Development and Student Exchange programmes, Dr. R. M. Joshi, Chairperson, Management Development Programme at IIT New Delhi and Prof. Biswajit Dhar were also present at the inauguration.
MICA inaugurates its 15th batch of PGPCM
In all, 120 students have enrolled for this course after undergoing a rigorous admission process consisting of the CAT/GMAT, MICAs own admission test the MICAT followed by rounds of Group Exercises and Personal Interviews.
Also present for the function, were the students of the recently inaugurated Executive Post-Graduate Programme in Communications Management (PGPCMX) and the Post-Graduate Programme in Crafting Creative Communications (PGPCCC).

Pune based Symbiosis Institute of Business Management (SIBM) is pegged at # 4 rank. Indian Institute of Management Lucknow (IIM-L) and Xaviers Labour Relations Institute (XLRI) are placed jointly at # 5 slot. XLRI has moved up 3 places. It was ranked # 8 in 2007 rankings.

Leaders must have the vision, passion and integrity: Dr APJ Abdul Kalam
While most other B-schools invited corporate honchos to inspire fresh batch of MBA students, Delhi Universitys Faculty of Management Studies (FMS) got none other than the former President of India and a respected thought-leader Dr APJ Abdul Kalam to ignite young minds.
Dr Kalam, while inaugurating the academic session 2008-10, delivered a 90 minute lecture for the FMS students. His address titled The Nation and the Dynamics of Leadership focused on leadership development, importance of integrity and character-building, and Indias challenges and opportunities in next decade.
Inaugural IIM-C PGPEX-VLM programme nears completion; participants to visit Japan
Participants are getting ready for the international study visit early July where they visit facilities of Japan Honda Saitama Factory, Kao logistics center, Hino Motors, Sharp, Yao factory, Patlite, Kasai Recycling Systems, Toyota, Panasonic House of History, Panasonic HRD College, and Toyota commemorative museum of industry and technology.
