IIM-B to hold its convocation on March 25; IT pioneer Gururaj Deshpande to address

Speaking to MBAUniverse.com, IIM-Bs Prof Ananthashayanam P said, The convocation ceremony will be presiding by Dr Gururaj Deshpande, Co-founder and Chairman, Sycamore Networks Inc.

He further added, On the occasion the students from its four programmes like Post Graduate Programme in Management (PGP), Program in Software Enterprise Management PGSEM), Post Graduate Programme in Public Policy & Management (PGPPM) and Fellow Programme in Management (FPM) will be felicitated with degrees.

In his address, Mr Roongta noted the progress made by IIM-I, reminded the students of the opportunity and problems that India faces and offered his mantra to the budding managers.

Highlighting the importance of knowledge, Mr Roongta said, We are living in very exciting times. The world has shrunk as never before. The process of globalization continues to transform the economic play field. Competitiveness in every facet is the key. Knowledge has acquired new significance. The era is of Intellectual Capital, which has become the prime mover of organizations.

Dr C K Prahalad to deliver convocation address at IIM-K

According to information shared by IIM-K with MBAUniverse.com, 177 members of the class of 2008 will be awarded the Post Graduate Diploma in Management. Two students would be awarded the Institutes gold medal for academic performance and all-round performance respectively.

Dont be the Bumblebees: Reebok MD Subhinder Singh Prem

Mr Prem was at IMT campus to receive the Distinguished Alumnus Award 2008. While receiving the award, Mr Prem said, I am overwhelmed with a feeling of love and nostalgia. Its the same campus where I grew up. I feel proud to receive this award today.

In his inspirational address, Mr Prem urged the passing out students to not succumb to the way things are done in corporate India, but to add new energy and dynamism. He communicated his message through a story of Bumblebees.

Dream big, and do big: Dr B S Sahay

Said Dr Sahay, My advice is that you think big and do big. Unless you dream big, you cannot think big, if you cannot think big, you cannot do big tasks.

Talking about the expansion at IMT, Dr Sahay said, IMT family has grown to three campuses: Ghaziabad, Nagpur and Dubai. I feel happy to inform you that we are moving to our newly constructed state-of-the-art campus in Dubai next month.
