JBIMS wins India round of Global Investment Challenge
The competition was held in Mumbai on March 29, 2008.
According to information shared by JBIMS with MBAUniverse.com, The local rounds began in September and the team will now move on to the regional round (Asia Pac region) scheduled to take place on April 12, 2008 where it will compete with the winners from Singapore, Indonesia and Hong Kong. The other regions include Europe, New York and North America. The top 5 winners will then compete in New York on May 1, 2008.
BCG Chairman Arun Maira to preside over IIM-C Convocation; 371 candidates to receive diplomas, fellowships
On the occasion Mr. Arun Maira, Chairman, Boston Consulting Group (India), will inspire the graduating batch of IIM-C with his convocation address.According to IIM C, 371 candidates have completed their programmes successfully and will be awarded diplomas and fellowships.
Prof Shekhar Chaudhuri, Director of IIM-C, will also present the Annual Report of IIM-C.The convocation will be declared open by theMr Ajit Balakrishnan, CEO Rediff.com and the Chairman of IIM-C Board of Governors.
Prof Tapan Panda is the officiating director at IIM-I
the Board of Governors of IIM Indore has decided to appoint Prof Tapan Panda, Professor of Marketing at IIM Indore as the officiating Director of the IIM-I. He will take over this position from April 5, 2008 till the appointment of the new director of IIM Indore.

New fee structure is fair and equitable: IIM-A
Through a press statement, issued on April 3, IIM-A has said, The (new fee) scheme charges the full costs of the programme to those who are capable of paying it, while providing assistance of about Rs. 8.5 crore per annum to those who may find it difficult to meet the costs. ISB grads double their salaries; average Indian salary up at Rs 19 lakhs
Placements 2008 at ISB saw record-breaking salary offers made to 422 graduates. The average domestic salary offered at ISB this year is Rs 19 lakhs. This was more than double the average salary of ISB grads before they entered the institute a year back, which stood at Rs 7.19 lakhs.
The average salary offered by international recruiters at ISB was much higher. The averages salary offer for jobs in US is $ 138, 614; in Europe is $ 156, 658; in Asia pacific is $ 145, 607; in Middle East is $ 125, 389. The comprehensive average of all international offers is $ 144, 812.
IIM Lucknow to raise its fee by Rs 50,000
According to the information shared by IIM Lucknow with MBAUniverse.com, IIM Lucknow has increased the two year PGP fees for the new academic session by Rs 50,000 per annum. IIM Ls fee revision is much more modest than the fee increase by IIM Ahmedabad and others.
According to the IIM Lucknow, after the fee increase, the PGP fees will be Rs 2.5 lakhs per annum. The current fee at IIM Lucknow for its PGP programme is Rs 2 lakhs per annum.
IIFT to increase its fees by Rs 75,000
Delhi based Indian Institute of Foreign Trade has also decided to increase the fees for its MBA programme by Rs 75,000. IIFT spokespersonand Sr Administrative Officer Dr L D Mago told MBAUniverse.com, IIFT has marginally increased the fee for its MBA (IB) 2008 to Rs. 2.5 lakhs per annum.The current fee at IIFT for its two year MBA programme is Rs 1.75 lakhs per annum.
