Mr R P Goenka, Chairman, IMI awarded the diplomas to over 200 graduating students of its four management programmestwo year full time Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM), three year part time PGDM, one year Post Graduate Diploma in Human Resource Management (PGDMHR) and one year Post Graduate Diploma in International Business (PGDM-IB).

The book is co-authored with Prof M S Krishnan. The launch took place in New Delhi on 17 April 2008.Prof Prahalads previous book, The Fortune at the Bottom of the Pyramid transformed Indian industrys view of the poor as consumers.

The book was released by Mr. Kapil Sibal, Minister of Science and Technology and Earth Sciences, at a session organised by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and the Aspen Institute India.

On April 8, 1908, the Harvard University Board of Overseers approved the establishment of a graduate school of business administration, the first in the world to offer the MBA degree. Described as a great but delicate experiment, HBS started with a full-time faculty of fifteen, a handful of staff, and a student body of fewer than a hundred. The School had no buildings of its own until a gift from New York financier George F. Baker in 1924 enabled the construction of a campus.
