FORE School of Management completes placements 2008; grads get 35% higher packages
FORE informs that its entire batch was placed on Day Zero itself with an average salary increase of 35 % over last year. In total there were 47 companies from 13 industry sectors that made 300 offers to FORE students.
According to FORE, the average package jumped to more than 8 lacs per annum while the highest package was offered by the international recruiter Jumbo Group, Dubai at 26 lacs per annum. The highest domestic offer is 11 lacs. The laterals of the batch also performed well with their average package being more than 9 lacs per annum.

Continuing our series on management exams, MBAUniverse.com spoke to Prof J K Mitra, Dean of FMS, seeking his last minute advice for FMS aspirants. Prof JK Mitra told MBAUniverse.com: We advice all the students that are going to appear in FMS 08 exam to try and do well in all the sections. The sectional cut-offs is a new element included in FMS 08 test, and this aspect is very important.
Dr Mitra added, Students should not just do well in only one or two sections. Its the all round score that will count.
XLRI grads plan to scale Himalayas!
At XLRI, plans are in progress to scale the Island Peak in the Himalayas. This peak situated to the south of Mt. Everest scales to a whooping altitude of 20,305 feet. Students will attend a 2 month long training camp conducted by mountaineering professionals to build up the required stamina.
