The MBA (International Business) is the flagship 2 years full time residential management offered by IIFT. The programme is open for freshers as well as for graduates with quality work experience. The MBA (IB) is the foundational course for developing a competent cadre of business executives to meet the country’s growing requirements for trained personnel in the field of international management. MBA (IB) is a six trimester general management programme with a focus on international business. The programme aims at providing a comprehensive coverage incorporating all the important areas and disciplines relevant to international business activities. The syllabi for MBA (IB) compares favorably with the syllabi of some of the world’s best International Business Schools.
IIFT MBA IB aims at imparting professional education and training in modern management techniques for handling international business operations in a highly dynamic and competitive environment. Since the development in the international marketing on the one hand and the consequential impact of the same on India’s domestic market on the other, call for a professional approach and sensitivity to international business environment, the MBA (IB) exposes the participants to the challenges in the emerging competitive business environment in an increasingly globalized world.

IIFT MBA Admission is through Common Admission Test (CAT) conducted by IIMs. IIFT does not conduct anymore its own entrance exam. IIFT admission process has following steps:
Step-1: Register and Submit Application & Take CAT exam by making payment of requisite CAT registration fees
Step-2: Submit separate Application for IIFT Admission by making payment of IIFT application fee
Step-3: IIFT will Shortlist candidates for Extempore-GD-PI round based on CAT cut off and Gender Diversity. Following weightage will be awarded to different components in IIFT shortlisting process for PI round:
Step-4: Shortlisted candidates need to participate in IIFT Final Selection Round comprising Extempore, GD, PI, WAT
Step-5: Final Merit List of more than 300 students will be generated after completion of IIFT final selection round based on CAT score, PI round and various other attributes & weightages
IIFT offers a dynamic curriculum. It aims to familiarize the students with fundamental concepts of management, international business and trade. The course structure is in sync with international trade and business demand, industry requirements and expectations. It incorporates all the vital subject areas and disciplines relevant to global business, emphasizing on analytical and quantitative approach. The course is a combination of core subjects and a wide range of electives that cater to the changing dynamics of international business.
The curriculum of the MBA (International Business) gets validated both internally and externally in the purview of the changing global environment in International Business and the requirements of Management Education to meet these new challenges, on a continuous basis. The curriculum places emphasis on developing a global perspective on various issues and developing these skills for taking an integrated view on managerial problems and being able to adapt to changing situations.
Summer Internship, Port Visit and Social Awareness Programme involve field work. All these field work components are mandatory. In the second year, students undertake a Research Project of 3 credits based on their sectoral specialization. Key specialization areas are General Management and Strategy, Quantitative Techniques & Operations Management; Information Technology, Finance, Marketing, International Trade Operations & Logistics, Human Resources, Economics of Strategy. Each specialization area has four to twelve electives. Students are required to opt for 18 Electives. They can major in two functional areas (6 each) and minors (3) in any other functional areas or major in 3 functional areas.
The step by step process how to apply for IIFT MBA admission is shared below:
Step-1: The applicants should register and apply online for CAT exam at iimcat.ac.in by making requisite CAT registration fee of Rs.2500
Step-2: After completing CAT application, apply separately for MBA (IB) Admission at IIFT website applyadmission.net/IIFT2025.
Step-3: Make online payment of IIFT application fee of Rs.3000/-. ( For PwD/SC /ST/Transgender IIFT application fees is Rs.1500)
IIFT MBA Admission 2025 Last Date to Apply has been extended from November 23 to December 5, 2024.
- A recognized bachelor’s degree of minimum 3 years’ duration in any discipline with 50% marks.
- The candidates appearing for a qualifying examination (Bachelor’s degree or equivalent) are also eligible to apply
- No minimum or maximum age limit
- Taking CAT exam and scoring well is mandatory for Indian Nationals

IIFT Need Based Scholarship: Under this Scheme IIFT pays interest subsidy on Educational Loan for 27 months to the MBA (IB) students with family income less than Rs.6 lakhs, from the time the loan in taken from a Bank.
New Scholarship Scheme (NSS): It will cover 10% students with scholarship amounting to 20% of the tuition fee in all “Full-Time/Regular” batches of the degree courses offered by IIFT. The criteria would be “means-cum-merit” basis with 70% weightage to means, and 30% weightage to merit.
Scholarships to IPM students: The scholarship will be offered after completion of BBA and MBA.
Government of India Scholarships: Government of India offers various central and state level scholarships to students. As of now, central scholarships are available for Full-Time students of IIFT through NSP portal like Central Sector Scholarship of Top Class Education to the SC students; ST students; to students with benchmark disabilities; to OBC students; Merit-cum-Means based Scholarship to the students belonging to minority communities and other scholarships.
Exim Bank Scholarship: Exim Bank offers a scholarship for reserved category (SC/ST) students equivalent to the tuition fees paid in the first year of the two-year Full-Time MBA Programme in International Business, subject to a ceiling of Rs.3.5Lakh.
OPJEMS Scholarship: This merit based scholarship by OP Jindal Group, is given to MBA(IB) first year and second year students of Delhi campus. First ten toppers from 1st year and first ten toppers from 2nd Year will be nominated by the Institute. On the basis of online test and interview conducted by OP Jindal Group, selected students will be awarded an amount of Rs.1.50 lakhs as scholarship.
