The two year MBA Program program of IIMU is designed to be a transformational experience for students, developing them into socially responsible and highly skilled managers well launched on the path to leading their organization towards excellence. Rural Immersion Experience
The idea of immersion is to get students to dive into real-life environments and explore learning for themselves. For students of the MBA graduate program Rural Immersion is mandatory. It starts with a course on the Indian Social and Political Environment and continues with the students spending a week in a village where they work closely with NGOs to appreciate on-the-ground realities and challenges faced by those at the bottom of the pyramid.
Industry Internship
After completing their first year of studies at IIM Udaipur, students undertake a mandatory internship- either an experiential learning opportunity at a company location or an opportunity to develop their own entrepreneurial project. Corporate internships can take place either in India or internationally in locations that have included Dubai, Qatar, London, and Malaysia.
International Immersion
The International Business in Practice course is a unique second-year elective that gives more than one-third of the students the chance to work for two weeks on a live business problem in a company in another South Asian country or the Middle East.
Entrepreneurship
IIM Udaipur encourages entrepreneurship in a variety of ways. Intensive mentoring and support, theoretical and practical coursework and flexible career development options ensure that students have the freedom to explore their entrepreneurial ambitions.
Global Perspective
Almost 60% of the students take advantage of one of the numerous options to study or work abroad for periods ranging from two weeks to three months during the course of their two-year program. Application process for admission at IIM Udaipur opens with the start of CAT registration process. Candidates have to apply for CAT by the last date. There is no need to apply and pay separately for IIM Udaipur Admission.
Admission/Selection Process for Candidates for MBA at IIM Udaipur is through CAT. The selection of the candidates for admission to the PGP at IIM Udaipur is a two-step process.
In the first step, candidates are short-listed for Common Admission Process (CAP) comprising Personal Interview (PI) from among the candidates who have a valid CAT score, who have applied to the programme and who satisfy the eligibility criteria for the programme. The candidate must have appeared and scored the minimum required percentile in CAT. Candidates are short-listed for CAP round which is the common PI round for CAP participating IIMs.
The first year equips students with a thorough grounding in management fundamentals and the second year gives them a chance to tailor their curriculum according to their personal interests and career objectives. IIM Udaipur keeps on updating its curriculum as per the industry and market requirement.
The first year core courses cover the key tools, concepts and analytical skills used in all major functional areas as well as subjects like business strategy and business ethics. In addition to being able to integrate their fundamental and functional knowledge, management professionals are also taught to be able to look at a business from multiple perspectives. After the first year, Students complete a two-month corporate internship with companies at different locations. There is a rigorous evaluation process after completion of first year.
In the second year, Electives are offered in all of the major functional areas along with multi-disciplinary courses like Entrepreneurship and Management Consulting. One of the elective options is the innovative International Business in Practice (IBP). Teams of 5-6 students undertake a two-week live project in the offices of a multinational company in locations like Bangkok, Dubai, and Singapore.
Students also have the option of undertaking a Course of Independent Study (CIS) which allows them to probe deeper into a subject of their interest. A compulsory course is Capstone which emphasizes the philosophy of immersion and application orientation. Some students also spend one full semester abroad as a part of the Student Exchange Program (STEP).
The method of instruction at IIM Udaipur includes case studies, group and individual projects, student presentations, simulation games etc. Lectures by Industry experts integrate classroom learning with industry practice.
Register and apply for CAT exam by paying the requisite application fee for the exam. On the page 4 of CAT application form, you need to select IIM Udaipur MBA and other programs and select the interview city. Your application for IIM Udaipur admission is submitted. You do not need to apply and pay separately for IIM Udaipur Admission. After declaration of CAT exam result, you can check at IIM Udaipur as well as IIM CAP website whether you are shortlisted by entering your CAT registration ID and password
- IIM Udaipur Eligibility criteria require that the candidate must hold a bachelor's degree of minimum 3 years duration after class 12, with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA.
- The candidate should appear in CAT exam and must score minimum prescribed sectional and overall score to be considered for shortlisting.
- Candidates appearing for the final year bachelor's degree/equivalent qualification examination and those who have completed the degree requirements and are awaiting results are also eligible to apply for Admission.

- After the PI round, IIM Udaipur will award weightages to various parameters and admission offers are made by IIMU to successful candidates.
- The final selection is based on a diverse set of attributes which includes performance in CAT, performance in CAP round, academics, co-curricular and extra-curricular achievements, work experience among others
- Admission offer letter would be sent to all successful candidates. Candidates, who are offered admission, need to confirm their acceptance by completing all the required formalities by the stipulated date.
