XLRI - Xavier School of Management, one of India’s premier B-Schools, has announced change in leadership. XLRI has appointed Fr. Sebastian George, S.J., as the new Director of the institute and Prof Sanjay Patro as the Dean Academics at XLRI Jamshedpur. Both the functionaries have taken over the responsibilities of XLRI from August 26, 2022.

September 1, 2022 marks the end of an era in All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). On this date, Prof Anil Sahasrabudhe, Chairman, AICTE stepped down from his position as he attained the age of 65. However, appreciating the transformation that he had brought at AICTE, the Government immediately appointed him as the Chairman of the newly formed National Educational Technology Forum (NETF) with same remuneration, perks and privileges as are applicable to the Chairman of AICTE.

IIM Indore has inaugurated the 13^th Batch of 5 Years Integrated Programme in Management (IPM) 2023-28 with 156 students including 49 Girl students on August 22, 2023 at its campus.

A survey released by Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC) on April 10, 2023, revealed that for the first time ever, prospective business school students said that they prefer one-year MBA programs over the more traditional two-year options. In India, while two-year MBA remains very popular, there is a growing demand for a shorter program. IIMs have launched 1 year MBA programs, while top PGDM B-schools like IMT Ghaziabad have launched 18-month AICTE-approved PGDM programs for executives.

India’s most prestigious management education conference is back! IIM Kozhikode, one of the top management institutes in the country, is the Partner and Host institution for the 12^th edition of INDIAN MANAGEMENT CONCLAVE (IMC) 2022. The conference will be held on December 9-10, 2022 at the picturesque IIM Kozhikode campus.

IIM Bangalore, the convener of CAT 2022 is one of the 6 IIMs that are awarded the responsibility to convene Common Admission Test (CAT) on yearly rotation. Apart from IIM Bangalore, IIM Ahmedabad, IIM Calcutta, IIM Lucknow, IIM Indore and IIM Kozhikode conduct CAT exam by rotation.  

While IIM Indore and IIM Ahmedabad modified and revamped CAT structure and pattern when they conducted it second time only, now it is IIM Bangalore which is convening CAT for the second time after 5 years. Going by the historical data, you should expect more changes in CAT 2022.

Xavier Aptitude Test, popularly known as XAT, is one of the top MBA entrance tests in India, and is a mandatory exam for XLRI Jamshedpur. As XAT is different from other exams like CAT, and also considered a more difficult paper, MBAUniverse.com reached out to XAT 2023 convener Professor Vishwa Ballabh to clarify on some popular “myths”.

Dr Debashis Chatterjee, the Director at IIM Kozhikode, needs no introduction. He is a well-known champion of gender diversity (IIMK was the first IIM to admit 53% women way back in 2013), and a staunch advocate of Indian wisdom. He set up the first ever Indian Business History Museum at IIM K with contributions from the top Indian business houses. Even before IIMK, Dr Chatterjee had made significant contributions as Dean IR, Chairperson-Placements and in many other roles, at IIM Lucknow, which he joined in 1996.

XAT 2023 (Xavier Aptitude Test-2023) Registration process is open from August 10, to November 30, 2022 with a registration and application fee of Rs.2000/- on XAT 2023 official website xatonline.in. XAT 2023 exam will be conducted by XLRI Jamshedpur on behalf of XAMI on January 8, 2023 in a single session.
