XLRI announced a 10-day team building and village exposure programme for the freshers at the orientationThe MBA programme session for the new batch of students at Xavier Labour and Relations Institute (XLRI) Jamshedpur commenced on June 15, 2009 with a large batch size of a total of 340 students. In an exclusive chat with MBAUniverse.com, Roshan N Dastur from XLRI Director Fr E Abrahams Office said, The highlight of this years MBA programme is an increase in the number of PM&IR students. This year the XLRI had to divide the PM&IR batch into two, with 60 students in each batch.

The Xavier Institute of Management Bhubaneshwar (XIMB) started another session with the new batch of PGDM program students on June 22, 2009. While speaking to MBAUniverse.com XIMB Director Fr PT Joseph said that the MBA institute has succeeded in adding 30 more seats in this years academic session. Until now 150 students have been enrolled for the MBA program. XIMB was waiting for AICTEs approval to add 30 more seats which has been done now, Fr Joseph said.

The Indian institute of Management (IIMK) Kozikode started the series of seminar on Thought Leadership as a part of its endeavor to achieve excellence and leadership in management education. The first seminar was held in IIMK campus on June 19, 2009 by Prof. Rajendra Sisodia on the topic Conscious Capitalism. Sisodia is Professor of Marketing at Bentley College, University of Bentley, USA and has a PhD in Marketing from Columbia University.

Commencements 2009: New session at IIM C to start with 408 students
IIM C freshers will be visiting cultural sites in Kolkata as part of the orientation programme to be held on June 18
This year around 408 students have secured seats in the Indian Institute of Management (IIM C) Calcuttas two-year MBA programme, the fees for which is Rs 4 lakh for the first year and Rs 5 lakh for the second year. The new session of MBA programme for the Class of 2009-11 is scheduled to begin on June 18, 2009 at IIM C and the authorities at IIM C has organised a variety of programmes for the newcomers.
