As reported first on MBAUniverse.com on April 27, Prometric was awarded the $40 million dollar contract by the Indian Institutes of Management (IIM) to computerize the prestigious Common Admissions Test (CAT). According to Prometric, CAT 2009 will be held across 23 cities in India.

This landmark development replaces the 33-year pen and pencil exam that CAT has been. Commenting on the development, leading test prep company Career Launcher said that CATs new pattern will impact the preparation strategy of students.

The program offers professional training in specialized subjects such as Insurance Sales Practices and Management, Insurance Products, Legal and Regulatory Aspects of Life Insurance and will also cover the fields of General and Marketing management. The duration of the programme is one academic year. The first batch of 60 students will commence from July 2009 at Mumbai.
