The first day of the two-day conference addressed various sub-themes like Turning crisis into opportunity; Global economy and its impact on India: The outlook; The emerging role of public sector in a post crisis economy; Indian economy: reforms required; Governence: What are the reforms required; and Agenda for first 100 days of the new government, etc.

The objective of the forum was to provide a platform for global business leaders, academics, policy-makers and sector-specialists to debate some of the most pertinent issues affecting business, economic and social growth in this part of the world this year, the focus was on health and the environment.

The fourth Oxford India Business Forum was started with the opening comments from Mr. S. Ramadorai, CEO and Managing Director of Tata Consultancy Services Ltd., who was also the Founding Sponsor of the event.

Now in the line of convocations, it was the turn of Xavier Institute of Management Bhubaneswar (XIMB) which hosted the 18th annual Convocation in its campus on March 21, 2009.
The Chief Guest on the occasion was Shri. Siddhartha Behura, I.A.S., Secretary, Department of Telecommunications, Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, Government of India. According to ISB, the competition worked as an international forum for exceptionally bright students and entrepreneurs with path breaking social venture ideas. Two teams have been selected to represent Asia at the Global Finals which will be conducted in Berkeley at the Haas School of Business in April 2009. Aimed at a global audience, the platform brings together business schools across the world to support the creation of social ventures. The winning teams in the competition were Pioneer Healthcare from ISB and Ummeed from SP Jain Institute of Management & Research (SPJIMR), Mumbai.

The institute had invited Mr. Anand G. Mahindra, Vice Chairman & Managing Director, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. as the chief guest for the occasion. They were addressing the event on March 21 & 22, 2009, in Allahabad and Varanasi on the topic How MBA aspirants should plan to enter top B-schools and my experience at top B-school. While suggesting the tips on different steps of getting into a good institute, Nagendra, first year PGP student, IIM L said, The first thing that a student should have is a positive attitude of I have to do it. Hard work is very essential for MBA written entrance exams like CAT, XAT, FMS etc. Taking larger number of Mock test is also very helpful.

The event was held on March 2122, 2009 in Allahabad and Varanasi respectively. The event was addressed by eminent personalities including management gurus, CAT experts and students from Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs), who addressed the dilemmas of MBA aspirants.

Mr. Anand G Mahindra, Vice Chairman & Managing Director, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd., presented the Distinguished Alumnus Award 2008 to Mr. Sandeep Dhar, CEO, Tesco Hindustan Service Centre, Bangalore; and Mr. S Sriniwasan, CEO, Kotak Realty Funds.Mr. Sandeep Dhar completed his Post Graduate Diploma in Business Management from IMT Ghaziabad in 1988 and also attended an Advanced Management Program at Wharton Business School.Prior to Tesco, he was the Managing Director of Sapient Corporation in India.

The objective behind the seminar is to present a platform for global business leaders, academicians, policy-makers and industry specialists to debate the pertinent issues affecting environment and the health sector in India.The Forum will be inaugurated by the welcome speech of Mr S Ramadorai, CEO and MD of Tata Consultancy Services Ltd.
