PSUs recruit 30% graduates at IIFT placement

Commenting on the successful completion of this years placement season, Mr Munish Bhargava, the corporate and placements advisor at IIFT, says, We have registered 100 percent placement in 2009. Meltdown of the markets from October lead to layoffs across sectors all over the world and most organizations seemed to be putting their growth plans on hold. IIFT has managed to rise to the challenge, ensuring 100% placements for its students and in the process adding 20% more recruiters to its previous years numbers. Seventy-three companies participated offering diverse profiles to students.

MDI in alliance with IOC launches Energy Management programme

This new course on Oil & Gas will be exclusively administered by the MDI School of Energy Management (SEM) and the IOC, which is a Fortune 500 Company. The course was inaugurated by Mr V C Agrawal, IOC Director-HR.

Speaking on the programme and related developments, Mr Agrawal said, IOC experts who are holding higher ranks will take all the 30 sessions comprising different aspects of Petroleum Management. The company will initiate with MDI collaborative programs, research activities and case studies on the issues related to all aspects of the petroleum sector.

UKs Leeds University to offer MBA courses, Bachelors programmes in India

The first academic year will start from September 2009 by offering Leeds Metropolitan Universitys undergraduate courses in the field of business studies, retail marketing management, international business and HRM among others. It also plans to roll out other post-graduate courses by 2010 including MBA and MSc in various disciplines as well as new undergraduate courses including Event Management, Marketing, and Advertising Management.

ISB students compare impact of office romance on working environment in India & West

The study was administered to more than 100 IT Professionals in the software industry. Of these, nearly 32% were female respondents and 68% were male. According to Nasscom, the male to female ratio in the Indian IT Industry is 65:35. The sample study had a similar ratio of 67:32 of males to females, and thus the sample is representative of the population. 70% of the respondents were unmarried and 30% were married.

ASCI to start new session for PGDHM amidst rising demand of professionals in health-care sector

The PGDHM, with intake of 30 seats, is a two-year residential full time programme offered by ASCI and recognized by AICTE. ASCI has invited applications for the programme to be commenced in July 2009.The date of issue of application forms and brochure is March 31, 2009, and the same will be accepted till April 30. The entrance exam will be conducted on May 16 in Delhi and Hyderabad.
