City Finals begin with a bang in Balasore
The first City Finals began in Balasore, Orissa on 2nd February 2008. After a drawn out five-hour long battle among more than two hundred participants, Balasore had its City Tycoons. Abhishek Pattanayak (Winner) and Shubhankar Das (Runner Up), both B.com final year students are from Fakir Mohan College.
IIM-C on Top: Wins ETCiti Grandmasters and Tata Business Leadership Awards
IIMC and Tata Chemicals were adjudged the winners from campus and internal track, respectively, for the 7th Tata Business Leadership Awards (TBLA) while the team of IIM Calcutta comprising Arnav Sinha and Vijay Anand Menon emerged as the winners in The ETCiti Grandmasters held in Mumbai on January 30.
At the Tata Business Leadership Awards, the winners were handed over the trophy and cash prize of Rs 1 lakh by Ratan Tata, chairman, Tata Sons. The IIM-C team consisted of Puneet Jain, Amit Mehta, Puneet Gandhi and Ritesh Saxena.

In 2008, a new version of the Oxford AMP will be launched by Dr Lalit Johri, the new Programme Director, to reflect emerging issues faced by its participants and their organisations. Oxford AMP will be held from 15 June to 12 July, 2008 at the Sad Business School, Oxford University.

The Summit was inaugurated by Ashwani Kumar, Minister of State for Industry, Govt. of India.
Summer Placements 08: IIM-K sees 25% increase in stipends
This year, the average stipend on campus has increased 25% from last year. According to IIM-K, PepsiCo, AIG, RPG Enterprises, IBM Business Consulting, YES BANK and Reliance Industries Ltd were amongst the recruiters who made the highest number of offers across business schools at IIMK this year. PricewaterhouseCoopers offered roles with the Performance Improvement division for the first time at IIMK.
There were batch of 193 students including members of Fellow Program in Management, where 66 top recruiters participated from India and abroad.
City Finals of Tycoons 2008 set for take off
Come February 2, more than 10,000 contestants will participate in the City Finals. These finalists have made it through the grueling first round competing against more than 1.5 lakh contests, conducted across more than 100 cities nationwide.
Each of the rounds in the City Finals will involve elimination. There will be three rounds that will test the business awareness, aptitude and leadership potential of the candidate. The first round is a written business quiz comprising 100 questions to be answered in a span of 30 minutes.
Spanish B-school IESE to conduct Inside India programme for global executives
IESE Business School, a leading Spanish B-school, in partnership with the Indian School of Business (ISB) will be organising for the 3rd consecutive year, a five day India study programme for an international group of executives.
Inside India programme will provide a close-up view of doing business in the country by covering critical topics such as off shoring, investment opportunities, consumer behaviour, and the social and political environment. The programme is part of executive education courses offered by IESE.
