Executive Master of Business Administration (EMBA)
Executive Master of Business Administration (EMBA) is a master’s degree program of 2 years duration. EMBA is designed with the objective of imparting management education to working executives seeking skills and strategies to make their organizations perform well.
The program is offered on an Interactive Learning (IL) platform in a blended mode. EMBA program is of 2 years duration and is offered in blended mode of Online and class room sessions. Total number of 36 courses are included in the programme curriculum. Total number of Programme Hours are 740 (1st year – 360 Hours, 2nd year – 380 Hours). Classes will be conducted on weekends from 9 AM to 5.00 PM on Saturday and 9 AM to 3.30 PM on Sunday. Apart from the online sessions, the programme will have 2 in-campus modules of five days each at IIM Visakhapatnam.
A mix of evaluation elements would vary from course to course as decided by the course faculty. For PGPBM, IIM Tiruchirappalli uses the concept of credit to define the weightage of a course in the curriculum. Courses are listed as one, two or three credit courses depending on an indicative workload for each course. A three credit course involves about 100 hours of work, of which 30% is spent inside the class room and the balance outside the class in preparation and assignments. One and two credit courses would have a proportionately lesser workload.
Preparation for the classroom entails preparation both before and after the class. Prior to the classroom session, students are required to prepare for the assigned case, go through the assigned readings and work on exercises and assignments, among others. Subsequent to the class session, students are required to review and reflect on the session, and prepare for the components of assessment.
In the programme both Core courses and electives are offered. Core courses are compulsory for all students and are offered in the four terms of the programme. IIFT Need Based Scholarship: Under this Scheme IIFT pays interest subsidy on Educational Loan for 27 months to the MBA (IB) students with family income less than Rs.6 lakhs, from the time the loan in taken from a Bank.
New Scholarship Scheme (NSS): It will cover 10% students with scholarship amounting to 20% of the tuition fee in all “Full-Time/Regular” batches of the degree courses offered by IIFT. The criteria would be “means-cum-merit” basis with 70% weightage to means, and 30% weightage to merit.
Scholarships to IPM students: The scholarship will be offered after completion of BBA and MBA.
Government of India Scholarships: Government of India offers various central and state level scholarships to students. As of now, central scholarships are available for Full-Time students of IIFT through NSP portal like Central Sector Scholarship of Top Class Education to the SC students; ST students; to students with benchmark disabilities; to OBC students; Merit-cum-Means based Scholarship to the students belonging to minority communities and other scholarships.
Exim Bank Scholarship: Exim Bank offers a scholarship for reserved category (SC/ST) students equivalent to the tuition fees paid in the first year of the two-year Full-Time MBA Programme in International Business, subject to a ceiling of Rs.3.5Lakh.
OPJEMS Scholarship: This merit based scholarship by OP Jindal Group, is given to MBA(IB) first year and second year students of Delhi campus. First ten toppers from 1st year and first ten toppers from 2nd Year will be nominated by the Institute. On the basis of online test and interview conducted by OP Jindal Group, selected students will be awarded an amount of Rs.1.50 lakhs as scholarship.
