Welingkar’s PGDM transformative pedagogy includes lectures, on-field industrial projects, simulation games promoting cross-functional leadership which is delivered by outstanding academicians and renowned Industry experts from leading companies. The students go through continuous assessment and evaluation process.

SIES Mumbai PGDM is a 24-month full time program covered over six trimesters ensuring that the students are thoroughly skilled in at least one functional area while having more than a fundamental working knowledge of another. The PGDM course seeks to enhance the students learning by offering knowledge-building projects in each semester, while fine-tuning their leadership, communication and inter-personal skills.

A 2-week induction course is conducted for all the participants. The objective of this capsule is to ensure that all the students start off at the same level in terms of the minimum knowledge required to grasp the forthcoming lectures.

The PGDM Curriculum contemporary syllabus updated every year through a panel of experts. An induction module is conducted at the beginning of the program. Specializations are offered in Finance, Marketing, Human Resources, Operations & systems. The program has Regular and Quality based corporate integration in terms of Seminars, Workshops, Guest Lectures, Visiting Faculty, Corporate Interaction Series and Concurrent Projects. The program curriculum consists of Leadership development programs, Personality development programs, Entrepreneurial development programs, Foreign language (Business German) as an optional subject, Mandatory annual NGO project aimed at making the students socially sensitive corporate managers. The program fosters and nurtures a research environment and mentality in the students aimed at sharpening their analytical skills.

PGDM Enrichment and Skill Development Program is a holistic and dynamic initiative tailored to empower PGDM students with a diverse set of 14 essential skills and knowledge. This comprehensive program comprises 14 distinct areas carefully designed to provide the  students with a well-rounded education that extends beyond the classroom, equipping them with practical skills and insights crucial for their academic, personal, and professional success. 

Programme Structure

Two-year Post Graduate Diploma in Management (Business Administration)

Each academic year comprises of four terms (of 3-months each), which includes two weeks for examinations (mid-term & end-term). 

20 Core courses spread over terms 1 to 6. 14 elective courses spread over terms 4 to 8 followed by mandatory field work/project in term 8 equivalent to two course load.

Pedagogy

• Interactive and participative methods of learning, in line with the recent advances in training methodology.
• Integrates the use of technology with the learning of basic principles in different functional areas of management.

Evaluation
Course evaluation is in terms of letter grades. Participants are required to achieve a certain minimum grade point average in each term, a minimum letter grade in each course and in Field Work/Project.

Merit Scholarship:

• The initiative of MDI Gurgaon Merit Scholarship is designed to recognize and reward consistent academic excellence among students enrolled in the PGDM-BA programme.
• Scholarships will be awarded to the top two students securing the highest Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) at the end of Term 1, 2 and 3.

Awards

• The Chairman’s Gold Medal awarded for the highest CGPA in the programme.
• The Director’s Gold Medal awarded for the highest CGPA in specialization in the programme.

Class Schedule

• In the initial three terms, the classes are held on four days per week i.e. Thursday to Sunday.
• Term 4 onwards classes are held throughout the week and for an individual the class schedule depends on the electives chosen by him/her.
• Classes are held from 6.30 PM to 9.45 PM on weekdays, from 6.30 PM to 9.45 PM on Saturdays, and from 10.00 AM to 05.15 PM, with a lunch break from 1.15 PM to 2.00 PM on Sundays.

The PGDM IEV at XLRI is designed to develop various skills and knowledge in the students though its rich curriculum and pedagogy. XLRI IEV employs a dynamic, hands-on approach in which each day is different. Students should anticipate two to four 90-minute lessons per day, five days per week. Students also engage in group projects, career counselling meetings, industry practicums, and extracurricular activities throughout the week.

The curriculum is based on the regular PGDM curriculum for business management but has been contextualized for startups. The core courses will cover all aspects of business fundamentals needed to run a business, and electives will the students to focus on specific learning needs. A large part of the course is designed around experiential learning, where students get an opportunity to validate and internalize the learning by applying it in the real world.

XCEED, the incubation centre at XLRI, supports the development of early-stage startup companies led by XLRI students, alumni, and faculty.
