IIM Lucknow Post Graduate Programme in Agribusiness Management (PGP ABM) is a 2 years full -time residential course designed to develop agribusiness leaders, entrepreneurs, and intrapreneurs with vision, competence and appropriate attitude for promoting/ growing agribusiness and agro-based enterprises with a strong international orientation. The students meeting the program requirements are awarded the degree of Master of Business Administration - Agribusiness Management (MBA ABM) by IIM Lucknow.
Admission Process for Candidates for PGP ABM at IIM Lucknow is through CAT. The admission of the candidates for admission to the PGP ABM at IIM Lucknow is a two-step process:
In the first step, candidates are short-listed for Personal Interview (PI) round from among the candidates who have a valid CAT score, who have applied to the programme and who satisfy the eligibility criteria for the programme. Detailed Admission process is as below:
- The candidate must have appeared and scored the minimum required percentile in CAT. Candidates are short-listed for PI round which is conducted in many cities
- Candidates are shortlisted from among the candidates who have a valid CAT score, who have applied to the programme and who satisfy the eligibility criteria for the programme
- After the PI round, IIM Lucknow will award weightages to various parameters and admission offers are made by IIM Lucknow to successful candidates.
- The final selection is based on a diverse set of attributes which includes performance in CAT, performance in PI round, academics, diversity, work experience among others
The curriculum of PGP ABM at IIM Lucknow is divided into six terms spread over two years. The First Year academic work, spread over three terms, is a compulsory package of 22 foundation (core) courses designed to provide basic knowledge of concepts, tools and techniques in various functional areas and relevant disciplines.
The two-month compulsory Summer Training in industrial and business organisations follows the first year course work. The summer training is aimed at providing exposure to the real life working environment. Students are required to work on specific, time-bound organisation related assignments.
The Second Year academic work, spread over three terms, comprises two compulsory courses of integrative nature along with a package of 15 elective courses of advanced and applied nature. These provide students the opportunity to develop in depth understanding and concentration in the areas of their special interest. The students can also take up to two Courses of Independent Study (CIS) as elective, or one Dissertation Project which is equivalent to two elective courses spread over Term-V and Term-VI.
The specialization area of Agri Business Management covers sub specializations in Agri Marketing, Rural Marketing, Agri Finance among others
- For IIM Lucknow PGP-ABM admission, the applicant should Register and apply for CAT exam by paying the requisite application fee for the exam.
- On the page 4 of CAT application form, you need to select IIM Lucknow PGP ABM and other programs and select the interview city.
- Your application for IIM Lucknow admission is submitted.
- You do not need to apply and pay separately for IIM Lucknow Admission.
- After declaration of CAT exam result, you can check at IIM Lucknow website whether you are shortlisted by entering your CAT registration ID and password
IIM Lucknow eligibility criteria for PGP ABM programme are:
- A Bachelor's degree in Agriculture Science/ Agricultural Engineering or allied subjects with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA (45% in case of the SC/ST/PwD candidates).
- The Bachelor's Degree or equivalent qualification obtained by the candidate must entail a minimum of three years of education after completing Higher Secondary schooling (10+2) or equivalent.
- The candidate should appear in CAT exam and must score minimum prescribed sectional and overall score to be considered for shortlisting.
- Candidates appearing for the final year bachelor's degree/equivalent qualification examination and those who have completed the degree requirements and are awaiting results are also eligible to apply for Admission
- All the shortlisted candidates are eligible to participate in Final selection round for admission to IIM Lucknow
- For the candidates who have appeared in PI-WAT round, a composite score for final selection will be derived using the parameters and the corresponding weights as given below. This composite score will be used for preparation of category-wise merit list for final selection.
