Step-1: K J Somaiya Institute of Management Shortlisting Criteria: K J Somaiya will shortlist candidates based on entrance exam scores accepted for admission namely CAT 2024, XAT 2025, GMAT, NMAT 2024, and CMAT 2025. For NMAT, the scores of only the student's first attempt will be considered. For GMAT, scores from 1st January 2022 to 20th January 2025 will be considered valid. Applicants may submit more than one entrance test score. K J Somaiya will consider the best test score for shortlisting.
Step-2: K J Somaiya Institute of Management - MBA Admission Final Selection: The final admission round at K J Somaiya will consist of WAT and GD-PI. The Written Ability Test (WAT) at KJ Somaiya Institute of Management is a key part of the admission process. In this test, students are given a specific topic to write about, allowing them to showcase their writing skills, critical thinking, clarity of thought, and ability to articulate ideas effectively. GD PI process will be conducted across different cities across India. It will consist of Group discussion and a personal in-depth interview.
After the final admission round KJSIM will award weightage to Entrance exam scores; Academics; Work Experience; Written ability test; Group Discussion and Personal Interviews; and Other Achievements like sports & other extracurricular activities. Candidates will be offered the programme based on their results, preference, and the availability of seats.
Profile-Based Admission: K J Somaiya also offers profile-based admission for its MBA Healthcare Management and MBA Sports Management programme. For the profile-based admission process, the aspirant needs to appear for any one of the qualifying entrance exams (i.e. either CAT / XAT/GMAT/ NMAT/CMAT). For MBA-Sports Management qualifying scores of CAT/ XAT/GMAT/ NMAT/CMAT /ATMA/MAT/PERA CET/CUET will be accepted.
Note: All the shortlisted candidates need to fill Candidate Profile form and SOP for MBA-HCM before appearing in the WAT & GD-PI round and for MBA-SM before appearing in the PI round.
The two-year, full-time MBA programme at K J Somaiya Institute of Management allows students the unique opportunity to pursue both a major and a minor. From the second year onwards, Students are required to opt for one of the majors and one of the minor specializations. The major specialization needs to be opted for before the 4th trimester, while the minor specialization needs to be opted for before the 5th trimester.
K J Somaiya Institute of Management offers students a unique opportunity to build on business fundamentals by opting for Majors and Minors. In the first year, the courses offered will strengthen the foundation i.e., business fundamentals. In the second year, the students will have the option to choose one of the 5 Majors. The choice of Major, to a great extent, will depend on one’s career goals and areas of interest.
Major specializations are offered in Data Science and Analytics (DSA), Finance, Human Resources, Marketing, Operations Management. Minor specializations are offered in Economics, Entrepreneurship, Financial services, Data Science and Analytics, Human Resources, Integrated Marketing Communication, International Business, Management Consulting, Marketing, Operations Management, Retail Management among other areas.
K J Somaiya has introduced a single common online application form for the MBA & MBA-HCM programmes. The application fee is Rs.3000/- + transaction charges.
For, MBA-SM separate form must be filled and the application fee for MBA-SM is 1000/- + transaction charges. You can apply for one or more than one MBA programmes.
