XLRI PGDM HRM admission process consists of Registration for XAT exam conducted by XLRI and submission of application for XLRI admission. There is a common application form to apply for XAT exam and for XLRI admission. Candidates will be shortlisted based on XAT exam score. It is mandatory to score well overall and section wise in XLRI XAT exam which will be a computer based test in single session across the country. XLRI Admission Policy is announced with the beginning of XAT registration process. The approach of XLRI to prepare the admission list for its PGDM HRM program is based on following points:
- Register and apply for XAT Exam
- Use the common Application form to apply for XLRI Admission
- Take XAT exam on the first Sunday of January and score well section wise and overall
- XLRI will announce Shortlist for next phase of selection round based on XAT exam score
- Final Admission Round comprises Group Discussion, Written Ability Test and Personal Interview which will be held in the months of February & March in Bangalore, Delhi, Mumbai and Jamshedpur
- PGDM HRM Final Admission offer will be made in the month of April/May on the basis of XAT score, GD-PI-WAT score, academic profile, work experience among other parameters

Step by step process to complete XAT registration and XLRI PGDM HRM application is as below:
- Register yourself on xatonline.in with some basic details like your name, email id, phone number. Immediately after the verification you will get XAT Id and password
- Login to XAT application page with XAT ID and password to fill your XAT application form
- On the first page fill all your personal details like complete name, date of birth, gender, email id, alternate email id, mobile number, alternate mobile number, age, nationality, blood group among others
- The next part is to fill your parents’ details in the application form. If you are married and are female, you need to enter details of your Husband and not of your parents
- Now fill in your address details like communication address with pincode, city, district, country among others
- On the next page, fill up academic details of your class 12 and/or diploma
- Fill in Details of Graduation/Other Qualification & Work Experience on next page
- Fill in your choice of XLRI PGDM HRM Programme, Test City in XAT Exam Registration Form. You can choose one or more programmes offered by XLRI. The additional application fee for each XLRI programme to be paid separately
- Choose 2 preferred test cities to appear in XAT
- On the next page, upload your photo, signature, certificates for class 10, 12 & graduation. The photo that you upload should be the latest one
- Make Payment of XAT & XLRI Application Fees
- Recognized bachelor's degree of minimum three years duration or equivalent in any discipline. No minimum percentage of marks in graduation has been prescribed for XLRI admission
- All Indian candidates should appear and apply for XAT Exam
- NRI and Foreign candidates may apply either through GMAT or through XAT
- A candidate appearing for the final year bachelor's degree/equivalent qualification examination and those who have completed the degree requirements and are awaiting results can also apply
- Work experience is Not mandatory. Fresh graduates and those with work experience can apply. Relevant work experience after graduation will only be considered.
