CAT 2016 registration is proposed to close after 10 days on September 22, 2016 and there are more than 1 lakh aspirants still in the waiting mode whether to register for CAT 2016. Although CAT 2016 exam centre at IIM Bangalore is shying away from sharing the information on number of registrations in the 1 month period, the sluggish trend shows that the progress is slow and it may fall short of the number achieved by IIM Ahmedabad last year while convening CAT 2015.

IIM Ahmedabad students of flagship PGP 2014-16 batch have grabbed 39% higher International Package of Rs.1.02 crore (USD 153,568) as compared to last year which stood at Rs. 73.89 lakhs (USD 110284) as per the final audited placement report of the institute.

Releasing the audited placement 2016 report on September 7, 2016, IIM Ahmedabad revealed that while there is spurt in higher international packages, the domestic pay packages reduced by Rs. 5 lakhs as the maximum domestic placement package in 2016 stood at Rs.48 lakhs as compared to Rs.53 lakhs in 2015.

MAT 2016 Computer based test to be held on September 10 in 11 test cities will be on the same pattern as paper pen based exam held on Sunday September 4. The CBT exam may not throw any surprise element as there was none in PBT exam except that few of Data Analysis questions and GK section turned to be a little trickier and time consuming. The overall MAT in paper based form remained moderate and same level of difficulty is expected in computer based test.

CAT 2016, on the same pattern of 2015 exam proposes to have MCQs with negative marking and Non-MCQs without negative marking in Quantitative Aptitude section. The only difference between the last year CAT and CAT 2016 is that number of questions has not been revealed by IIM Bangalore for CAT 2016 whereas in 2015 details about the number of total and sectional division of questions was made available along with the release of CAT notification.

Out of 150 total questions in MCQ form in SNAP 2016 carrying maximum 150 marks, there will be 30 questions carrying 30 marks in Current Affairs section. In the changed pattern, with regular study of 15 to 20 minutes a day, you can add 30 marks to your score in SNAP 2016.
