IIM-K gets ready to host Start-up Fair
Keeping in line with IIM-Ks drive to encourage entrepreneurship, The Start-up Fair brings together aspiring and existing entrepreneurs, venture capitalists and industry experts to discuss business ideas and facilitate the process of implementing them. Many aspiring entrepreneurs from the final year batch of IIM-K would also be interacting with the participating firms to understand the proposed business models, the nitty-gritties involved, the challenges faced and the firms working and proposed solutions.
AIMA 35th NMC: London Business Schools Nirmalya Kumar, Santosh Desai address on Changing Marketing paradigm
To address the changing marketing paradigm, distinguished speakers like London Business Schools Prof Nirmalya Kumar and Mr Santosh Desai, CEO, Future Brands. The session was chaired by Mr Keki Mistry, Vice Chairman & MD, HDFC Bank.
Leading the discussion, Mr. Mistry said that Marketing always needs to evolve in the dynamic environment. He also stressed on the point that employees of any organization are the best advertisers and the support of word of mouth advertising is the best bet for any advertiser.
AIMA 35th NMC: Experts advice on developing a global mindset
The second session of the day one was on the theme: Developing a Global Mindset.
The session was chaired by Mr Sudhir Jalan. The other speakers were Mr Jeffrey Watts, Partner, deloitte Tohmatsu, Japan; Ms Anne Nemer, Asst. dean & ED, Univ of Pittsburgh and Mr D Sivakumar, MD Nokia.
In his opening remarks, Mr. Jalan said that good leaders need to have understanding of Global practices as these practices across the globe are transforming us.

Innovation in Education: Harvard Business School launches new 2+2 MBA for college graduate
HBS has introduced a new deferred MBA admission program, called HBS 2+2, where college students can apply straight from their college. Once selected, they will work for 2 years at select companies like Google and McKinsey and will then be admitted to HBS MBA class.
According to HBS, one of the main reasons for HBS launching this programme was the misconception in US that HBS and premier B-schools admit students only with 5-6 years of work experience.
