The placements this year saw a new high. The highest domestic salary offered was Rs. 29 lacs while the average salary was a high Rs 13.84 lacs, JBIMS informed MBAUniverse.com. Whats more, each student was made 3.08 offers on an average.
JBIMS also reports a whopping 100% rise in the number of investment banks on campus along with a plethora of niche profiles on offer in sectors ranging from Consulting to Capital Markets, Telecom to Media, and Real Estate to Conglomerates.
Top recruiters hire at IIM-K Lateral Placements 2008
The Lateral Placements program is for students with prior industry experience. This year, approximately 30% of the Class of 2008 (55 students of a batch of 180 students) were eligible for the Lateral Placements program. 35 recruiters from India and abroad participated in Lateral Placements on campus, and a total of 103 offers were made. The average salary for Lateral Placements 2008 stood at Rs 15.56 lac per annum.
Delhi University-CII Partnership to make graduates employable
Elaborating on the initiative, Mr Vijay Thadani, Chairman, CII National Committee on Education said that 6 months short courses will be offered to students in Automobiles, Retail, and IT/ITES sectors from 1 July onwards at Keshavpuram center of Campus of Open Learning. The model would subsequently be scaled up to offer courses in Healthcare, Biotechnology, and Media. These courses will equip students to join relevant industries at the entry-level.
LG Electronics signs MOU with ITIs; to recruit 5000 people

HRD Minster Arjun Singh inaugurates conference on Indian education - EDGE 08

Tycoons 2008 set for Grand Finale in New Delhi
The Grand Finale will be held from March 9 - 13, 2008 when the regional champions will battle it out in the final in New Delhi.
The Grand Finale has been divided into three rounds, two of which will be competitive. In between, the national delegates will get an opportunity to participate in the Leadership Summit. The names of the winners will be announced at the Graduation Ceremony on March 13.

NMIMS and FMS win the Paper Presentation competition at FMS
Delhi on March 01, 2008. Another Team from FMS consisting of Mr Raghav Vij and Pritish Mehta won the runners up award. The competition was organized by the Finance Society of FMS in association with Industrial Finance Corporation of India (IFCI).
The winning team got the scholarship of Rs 30,000 from IFCI.
NIIT Imperia ties up with IIFT to offer International Business Programme
NIIT Imperia and IIFT will offer Post Graduate Certificate Programme in International Business (PGCIB) for working professionals. The programme will commence in the month of March.
This six-month programme is designed for working professional with minimum three years of experience. The students will be awarded Post Graduation Certificate in International Business by Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT) on successful completion of the Program.

Mr. Ronnie Screwvala agreed to spend an evening with BizOrion participants of JBIMS as a result of an incredible gesture from Dr. Kavita Laghate, JBIMS who enabled this mentoring session for the students. It was great to have our chief mentor, Mr. Arun Sehgal (Chairman, Chempro Group) along with us for the session.
Every participant was excited to meet Mr. Screwvala and thrilled when the session started at 7 pm at Mr. Ronnies office. The hospitality extended by Mr. Ronnies office to all of us visiting was very warm.
