Final Placement 08: IIFT grads bag higher average salary

The series of pre-placement offers and laterals season earlier meant that 57 students had already been placed even before the final placements had started. The average compensation package this year rose to Rs 10.11 lakh per annum from Rs 9.3 lakh per annum last year. The highest domestic salary this year was Rs 25 lakh per annum whereas the highest international package was US $ 110,000 per annum.

IIM-A, IIT SJMSOM, NMIMS and SCMHRD to compete at LOr

Five national finalists namely IIM- Ahmedabad, SJMSOM of IIT - Mumbai, two teams from NMIMS, Mumbai and SCMHRD Pune will compete to win the coveted contest. The winners of the National Finals will get an opportunity to go to Paris to participate in the 16th International Finals and compete with students from across the globe.

The finals of the contest will be held in Mumbai on Monday, March 10 at NMIMS University.

Final Placements 08: IIM-K records strong gains

Placements culminated with the Class of 2008 achieving an average salary of Rs 14.83 lac per annum, a rise of 26% over last years figure. The highest domestic salary at IIM-K shot up by 28% to Rs 29 lac per annum. The highest international salary recorded a phenomenal 60% jump, capping at USD 175,000 per annum by an Oil & Gas conglomerate.

Top firms offer higher salaries, better profiles at IIM-A Lateral Placements 08

Laterals were conducted in the months of January and February 2008.

The significant amount of prior work experience of the batch of 2006-08 led to an increase in the number of students eligible for lateral placements. Many big names in fields such as consulting, private equity, general management and banking participated in the process.

With as many as eleven talented young people opting out of the placement system to start their own ventures, the trend of taking this less traveled road has grown stronger. These students have plans to start their ventures in areas as diverse as logistics, manufacturing, advertising, finance and agro-processing in addition to information technology.

Final Placements 08: Top companies pick XLRI grads

298 offers were made for a batch of 180 students, with the average domestic offer coming in at 14.75 Lacs and the highest domestic offer being Rs. 28 Lacs. 12 international offers were also made with an average of $90,000 USD.
Says XLRI, A notable feature of the entire process was not just the increased leeway for the average student to choose, but also depth of specific roles that were tailored to woo the best of the countrys business graduates.
