XLRI Faculty to co-author Finance classic with Brealey, Myers and Allen

According to XLRI, he will be the new co-authored of finance classic Principles of Corporate Finance along with Brealey, Myers and Allen. This text book is considered a Bible in the world of corporate finance, and used by leading institutions all over the world. Its three other authors are Richard A Brealey of London Business School, Stewart C Myers of MIT and Franklin Allen of University of Pennsylvania.

Says XLRI, It is indeed a matter of great honour to have one of our professors to co-author such an illustrious book.

XIMB & HUL join hands for to promote women empowerment

The promotion campaign was aimed at identifying 20-50 year old women in the villages for promoting its customized products for rural areas.

The campaign started with the identification of areas and villages by the rural management students of XIMB, followed by extensive research for finding out the right women for this project. HUL-Shakti project provides an excellent opportunity for women of rural India to contribute to the family income after completing their household chores, said Sumit Gupta, Team Leader of the RMAX team for this project.

Competition gets tougher: Number of CAT applicants increase by more than 20 percent

Going by the number of Common Admission Test (CAT) application forms sold this time, the organizers of CAT say that CAT takers will increase by more than 20 per cent compared to last year.

Prof Ashish K Bhattacharyya, chairman of admissions, Indian Institute of Management Calcutta and spokesperson of CAT group, shared this information with MBAUniverse.com. Said Prof Bhattacharyya: In total, 2.4 lakh forms have been sold this year and about 2.3 lakh applicants have filled up forms and sent them back to us.

IIM-A, IIM-C & IIM-B to launch pan-IIM finance magazine

Leading three Indian Institute of Managements (IIMs) have decided to launch their own magazine titled The Money Manager to cater to wide interest.The Money Manager will focus on all issues and topics related to Finance. Finance Clubs of IIM Ahmedabad, IIM Calcutta and IIM Bangalore have come together for this initiative. According to IIMs, the magazine has already got sponsorship from global investment giant Merrill Lynch. The first edition of the magazine will be released in September itself. Magazine will invite articles and research from leading Indian B-schools and corporate sector.
