We are talking about Mr B Muthuraman, the man behind the takeover of Anglo-Dutch giant Corus by Tata Steel. Mr Muthuraman, regarded amongst Indias best corporate leaders, has successfully led the globalization of Tata Steel which celebrated 100 years of service on 26 August this year.
Mr B Muthuraman took over as Managing Director of Tata Steel in July 2001 -- from Dr. Jamshed J. Irani. He had joined the company as a Graduate Trainee way back in 1966. Between 1991 and 1995, he headed the Marketing Division of Tata Steel.

HR Innovation: ICICI Bank to attract managerial talent with probationary officer programme

Under this programme, applications will be invited from graduates and aspirants who are selected will go through an intensive one-year residential training programme, the bank said in a press statement.

On successful completion of the programme, candidates will be awarded a diploma in banking and insurance and absorbed in a managerial position. Further, they will also have an opportunity to pursue an executive MBA while working. All costs incurred on the training would be borne by ICICI Bank.

Harvard Business Schools first executive program in India to focus on Building Global Enterprise

The program, titled Building a Global Enterprise in India, will be taught by senior HBS faculty including Prof Krishna G. Palepu and Prof Tarun Khanna in Hyderabad. The program is targetedat senior executives from India and the region. The course fee for this six day program is pegged at Rs 180,000.

This program was designed to address emerging challenges in the Indian business landscape as companies seek to manage and sustain growth in India, said Professor David Yoffie, Senior Associate Dean and Chair of Harvard Business School Executive Education programs.
