Prominent speakers like Dr Devi Singh, Director, Indian Institute of Management, Lucknow (IIM-L); Mr Kamlesh Sajnani, MD, IMS Learning Center and Prof J K Mitra, Director, Faculty of Management Studies (FMS), Delhi University addressed MBA aspirants on management education trends. According to IMS, over 1,000 MBA aspirants attended the tour.

The two-day summit was centered on the theme Managing Talent for Global Competitiveness: Issues and Challenges.

Elaborating on HRs role, Ms Sabharwal said, Earlier it was finance and marketing that was next to CEOs role but its HR now. She was of view that the role of HR is now more than only tackling personnel and emotional issues: HR must deal with the much bigger issue of managing talent. Human capital is increasingly becoming the source of value creation for organizations so it is very important to mange the talent.

Right STEP: Scholarships help IIM Calcutta students go global

This September eighty students, representing a third of the second year students at IIM Calcutta, will head off to various locations all across the world -- from Singapore to USA.These students, as part of various Student Exchange Programmes (STEP) set up at IIM C, will have the opportunity to understand the culture abroad and gain an international perspective to management at various prestigious international partner universities. To aid their mobility, scholarships are pouring from many quarters. This year, 46 students will avail these scholarships, against just 12 students last year.
