IFMR ties up with NGO to provide lessons in social sector
Aimed at fostering the spirit of social responsibility and contribution to society they signed a MoUto this effect on April 12.
Established in 1970, IFMR is private B-school that is supported by ICICI and other Indian corporates. Admissions Trends: ISB Hyderabad records healthy enrolments for 2007-08 batch
A total of 425 students were admitted this year, as against 416 candidates last year. The number of student applications increased by a substantial 32 per cent this year when compared with last year. According to ISB, the average work experience for the current batch is 5 years. The academic session for the current batch was kicked off earlier this month.
FORE School of Management Convocation 2007
On the occasion on 23 April, Mr Ashok Varma, President of FORE and Dr Seema Sanghi, Director of FORE School of management also delivered their convocation address, and urged the graduated to apply their learnings to the real business world.

Supreme Court rejects Centers plea, declines to vacate stay on OBC quota
It is expected that this order will put an end to the longstanding admission impasse for the premier management institution, the IIMs at least for this academic year.
Responding to the Centers plea, in a sharp comment, the Supreme Court bench of Justice Arijit Pasayat and Justice L S Panta said: You (are supposed to) frame the rule and then play the game. But here you are playing the game first and then framing the rule!
The Bench however said it would examine the Centres plea for referring the issue to a Constitution Bench.
IIMs await HRD-Ministry nod on admissions
Speaking with MBAUniverse.com, IIMs have indicated that they will not release the final admission lists till they receive official word from the HRD ministry.
Speaking with MBAUniverse.com, IIM Bangalore Director Dr P G Apte said, We are waiting for official communication and confirmation from government. We hope to get their clearance in next two or three days. Only then will we release our final admission list.
Several other IIMs have offered similar comments to other media on this issue.

SEBI Chairman M Damodaran to preside over Convocation at FORE School of Management

Indian Vice President Bhairon Singh Shekhawat to preside over TISS convocation
Mr Bhairon Singh Shekhawat, the Honourable Vice President of India, will be the chief guest at the occasion where the outgoing graduates of TISS will receive their diplomas, degrees, certificates and awards.
Mr Shekhawat has been Vice-President of India since August 2002, when he was elected to the five-year term by the electoral college following the death of his predecessor, Mr Krishan Kant. He was also a member of the National Democratic Alliance at the time of his election, and had served three times as the Chief Minister of Rajasthan.
