Earlier, he was a management consultant withMcKinsey & CompanyHe has over a decade of work and research experience in microfinance, and he holds a B.A. from Tufts, an M.A. from Yale, and a Ph.D. from the University of Chicago. Akulas Ph.D. dissertation focused on the impact of microfinance, and he was named in Time Magzines 100 people of the year in 2006.

The one-day program, Making Magic of Teaching, will be conducted by two experienced faculty members: Dr Sharad Sarin, Professor of Marketing at XLRI, Jamshedpur, and Dr Mukesh Chaturvedi, Professor of Marketing at BIMTECH.

The program will help participants understand various teaching styles. Speaking to MBAUniverse.com, Dr Harivansh Chaturvedi, director, BIMTECH said, The program is aimed to provide best practices in pedagogy of management to the young faculty of B-schools based in the northern region.

Prof Neeraj Dwivedi, Chairman of Admissions at IIM Indore told MBAUniverse.com, We have announced the list of 650 students against 180 seats. Explaining the large number of candidates who have been offered admissions, he explained, We issue list of more students because many of them have option from other IIMs.

Commenting on the fee submission schedule, he said, Students have to submit their fees before May 14.

According to IIM-B, 330 candidates have been issued admission letters against the 240 seats currently available for PGP 2007-09 at IIM Bangalore. This includes 36 seats in the SC category, 18 seats in the ST category and 7 seats in the PWD categories.

The IIM-B admission announcement says, The 90 excess offers over available seats are to cover overlapping offers made to some of these candidates by other IIMs. IIM-B will send formal offers to all these 330 candidates.

IIM-A has released its admission list on Friday evening after it received the directives from Ministry of Human Resource Development (M-HRD). According to IIM-A, it has announced admission offers for 250 seats (same capacity as that for PGP 2006-08 batch) as against 280 indicated at the time of declaring short-list of candidates for the second stage of admission process.

Thousands of IIM aspirants will finally get to know whether they have made it to their dream management institute. Said Prof Bhattacharya, Through our site students will know whether they have been provided admission or not. All the selected students will get their offer letter on Monday.

This years admission will follow the HRD Minister Arjun Singhs formula to allow admissions as per the last years intake for the moment was endorsed.

Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) have been signed with the Burgundy School of Business (France), Paris Graduate School of Management (France), FH Kufsten Tirol University of Applied Sciences (Austria), Normandy Business School (France), FH-Offenburg University (Germany), Euromed Marseille Ecole de Management (France) and National Taiwan University (Taiwan).

But this will be done without implementing the OBC Quota. A meeting of UPA constituents and Left allies gave a go ahead to the HRD Ministrys proposal to fill the seats as per last years norms. The proposal said to leave out the increased seats to accommodate the 27 per cent OBC quota till the Supreme Court decides the matter. The Court will hear the matter on May 8.
