Birla Global University Bill passed by Odisha Assembly; campus ready to take off in July 2016

Odisha Assembly has passed the awaited Birla Global University Bill on December 7, 2015 at 7.20 PM and has awarded the Bhubaneshwar campus of BIMTECH the status of a State Private University. The passing of the bill has paved the way for BIMTECH Bhubaneshwar to award MBA degree instead of PGDM diploma to management graduates. The Bill was passed by a voice vote.

CMAT 2016: Registration last date extended to Dec 13; complete the process in 15 minutes

AICTE has extended the last date of CMAT 2016 registration for another 3 days from December 10 to December 13, 2015. Year 2015 has seen the extension in the last date of registration for all the important MBA entrance exams like CAT 2015; XAT 2016; SNAP 2015 and now CMAT 2016.

AICTE will conduct CMAT 2016 as a computer based test (CBT) on January 17, 2016. AICTE will now conduct only 1 CMAT exam instead of 2 CMAT exams which were used to be held in the months of September and February every year.

XAT 2016: Changed sectional test composition revealed; major 3 sections with fewer questions

CAT 2015: Score not so important for IIM Calcutta in PI round

If you score reasonably good and exceeding the threshold limit, your slightly low CAT 2015 score may not be a hurdle in getting shortlisted for PI round at IIM Calcutta for PGP 2016-18 batch. Indian Institute of Management Calcutta has decided not to award 100% weightage to CAT 2015 scores. Only 67% weightage would be awarded to CAT 2015 scores and the rest 33% wightage will be awarded to you, if you possess other qualities prescribed by the IIM Calcutta.

XAT 2016: Registration closes tomorrow on Dec 10; apply today to avoid last minute rush

One of the most favourite and largest management entrance tests XAT 2016 will be closing its online registration and application process tomorrow on December 10, 2015. XAT 2016: Confusion on changed penalty pattern cleared by convener; to apply from 14th unattempted question

Imposing the penalty of 0.05 for unattempted questions and 0.25 marks for each wrong answer in XAT 2016 had created more confusion among candidates as they were not clear whether the penalty would begin for 14th unattempted question or would also be applied for earlier unattempted questions. Addressing the query of the candidates, XAT 2016 convener Prof Munish Thakur has responded The penalty of 0.05 marks for each unattempted question would begin from the 14th question. It implies that the imposition of negative marking wouldnt include the earlier unattempted 13 questions.
