Four NITIE grads launch their consulting company on Independence Day

RC&S was launched by Rahul Gugaliya, Amol Sangewar, Sameer Saigaonkar and Kartik Harugol, all students of the PGDIE program at NITIE. The company was launched under the Hamara Dhandha program at NITIE.
Said the four entrepreneurs and founders of RC&S, We are jubilant not only because of the significance of the date when our dreams materialized into reality the real cause of our celebration is that we are about to change the future of our country as we are the new generation entrepreneurs. They added that they owe this venture to the eminent faculty members of NITIE.

IMS to organize B-school tour

According to IMS, The event will provide MBA aspirants with a platform to interact with top B-schools and know everything about these B-schools. Dr Prakash Apte will inaugurate the B-school Tour with an interactive seminar on MBA Education. Dr Sujit Basu, Director, MDI Gurgaon, will address MBA aspirants in a seminar held after the inauguration.

The B-school Tour go to Pune (on August 19) and from thereon to Hyderabad, Delhi, Ahmedabad, Kolkata, Bangalore, Chennai and Mumbai.

CAT-IIMs announce revised non-IIMs B-schools list for CAT 2007

Mumbai based SP Jain Institute of Management & Research (SPJIMR) and Institute of Management, Nirma University of Science & Technology, Ahmedabad are noticeable additions.

Six other institutes that have been added are: Bengal Institute of Technology & Management, Shantinikhetan; Management Institute of Durgapur; Mangalmay Institute of Management Studies, Greater Noida; Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology, Bhopal; University of Petroleum & Energy Studies, Gurgaon and Vignana Jyothi Institute of Management, Secunderabad.

PM wants to usher a major revolution in education sector, seven new IIMs and eight new IITs in works

In his address, Dr Manmohan Singh announced a slew of significant initiatives in primary, secondary and higher education. Amongst the announcements was setting up of seven new Indian Institutes of Management, five new Indian Institutes of Science Education and Research, eight new Indian Institutes of Technology, seven new Indian Institutes of Management, and twenty new Indian Institutes of Information Technology.

Management Entrance Test for IIT B-schools on Dec 9

This written management entrance exam is conducted by IIT Kharagpur.

According to IIT Kharagpur, JMET 2008 will be of 2 hours duration.The test will consist of 150 questions (objective / multiple choice type) in Verbal Communication, Logical Reasoning, Quantitative Ability and Data Interpretation areas.

IIT Bombay: Shailesh J Mehta School of Management
IIT Delhi: Department of Management Studies
IIT Kanpur: Department of industrial & Management Engineering

Airtel VP speaks on Project Management at FMS workshop

The event was heldon August 16. Mr. Vishvanathan -- an alumnus of IIT Roorkee, with a Masters degree in Seismology -- spoke about the requirement of defining a project: how a project is planned, how it is reviewed and how information is communicated within a team. He also talked about the importance of the Project Charter and the knack that project managers should possess to envision unforeseen risks and formulate solutions to tackle them with available resources.
