ISB Graduation Day 2007: Dr Montek S Ahluwalia, Mr Rajat Gupta and Dean Dr MR Rao exhort students to innovate and lead
The day was marked with addresses from the Chief Guest of the day Deputy Chairman of Planning Commission and respected economist Dr Montek Singh Ahluwalia, ISB Chairman and respected management thinker Mr Rajat Gupta and ISB Dean Dr M R Rao. In his address Dr Ahluwalia urged the students not to limit their management applications only to the corporate sector but to apply them to all sectors, which require huge management inputs. He added that economic development should be inclusive.
ISB to double its permanent faculty
ISB dean Dr Rammohan Rao shared this resolve on the eve of its graduation day.
ISB currently has a student intake of 418 students for all its programmes and plans to hike it to 560 students in the next three years. The institute is also planning to add two new centres of excellence in the Strategic Marketing and Leadership & Change Management areas. These two centers will be in addition to the existing centers in analytical finance, global logistics and manufacturing strategies, IT and networked economy, Wadhwani Centre for Entrepreneurial Development.
IIM Indore announces 46 MDPs for 2007-08
According to the information shared by IIM Indore with MBAUniverse.com, in the financial year 2007-2008, it has planned 46 MDPs on the variety of topics.The MDPs will cover a wide range of areas including General Management, Financial Management, Marketing Management, Supply Chain Management, Production & Inventory Management, Quantitative Techniques, Decision Making, Information Technology, International Business, Business Communication, Human Resource Management and Behavioral Science.
The fees will range between Rs 8,000 and Rs 18,000.

According to Financial Times Distance Learning MBA programme 2007 data, released on March 19th, US-based University of Phoenix is the leading provider with a massive 40,000 students currently enrolled in their program. UK-based Edinburgh Business School is the next largest B-school currently enrolling close to 10,000 students. Many of these international players are also accredited with bodies like AACSB, Equis and Amba.
418 ISB-ians to graduate on April 7
Mr Montek Singh Ahluwalia, Deputy Chairman, Planning Commission, will be the Chief Guest on the occasion. He will hand over the graduation certificates to the outgoing batch of 418 students who completed their full-time postgraduate program in management. ISB-ians will take the traditional Graduation Walk donning symbolic gowns and caps.
Science & Technology minister Mr Kapil Sibal to preside over IMI Convocation 2007
Eminent lawyer and Minister for Science and Technology Mr Kapil Sibal will be the chief guest on the occasion. Since 1990s while the number of B-schools are going up almost every month, the quality of management education offered by a majority of B-schools leaves a lot to be desired. Speaking on this issue, Director of XLRI Jamshedpur Fr N Casimir Raj S J commented, While there is a great demand for management education and Indian talent, only a small fraction of Indian B-schools offer quality education. We have some 1,800 management institutes in India. But the problem is there are only about 50 that are providing quality education.
LBSIM signs MoU with EHSEM; establishes long term international academic co operation
MOU signed between Lal Bahadur Shastri Institute of Management (LBSIM), Delhi and European Higher School of Economics and Management (EHSEM), Bulgaria on 22nd June 2016 for Establishing Long-Term International Academic Cooperation.

SP Jain to hike fee by Rs 25,000
Mumbai-based S P Jain Institute of Management & Research (SPJIMR) has decided to increased fee for its two-year management program by Rs. 25,000. Responding to a query by MBAUniverse.com on fee increase, Dr Rajan Saxena, director, SPJIMR, confirmed the move: Yes, we have been increased the fees from Rs. 1.75 lakh to Rs. 2.00 lakh, he said, adding, The reason for the increase is the increase in costs of running the program.
