SL Raos book From Servants to Masters traces the journey of Indian management
The book traces the journey of Indian management education, and reviews the contributions of Indian management thought leaders. It also commemorates AIMAs Golden Jubilee which is being celebrated this year: the book gives AIMA due credit for its role in propagating management education in India since the late 1940s.
KT Chacko is IIFTs new director
Mr Chacko, an IAS officer of the 1973 cadre, has been associated with foreign trade for the last 15 years. He has served as private secretary to Commerce Ministers from 1985 to 1987, as director, Trade Policy Division, Ministry of Commerce, and has held several posts with the Government of Madhya Pradesh -- such as Development Commissioner, Secretary Forest, Environment Commissioner, Divisional Commissioner, and Director of Institutional Finance.
IRMA Placement 2016 over in February with higher salary packages
The placement week for the Institute of Rural Management Anand (IRMA) was scheduled during February 22-28, 2016. Placements at the Institute for the graduating batch of its flagship programme, Post Graduate Diploma in Rural Management (PGDRM), has been completed.
Over 350 jobs offers were received from about 100 recruiters for the batch. While 12 participants accepted the pre-placement offers made to them during their internship phase, two were sponsored candidates and five opted out of the placement programme this year.
Bharti Scholarships for XLRI students
According to information shared by XLRI with MBAUniverse.com, Abhishek MallandSandeep Agarwal from XLRI have received the scholarships.
Bharti Foundation has initiated Bharti Scholarship Programme in 30 institutions across India. The scholarships are meant for academically bright students, who are keen on pursuing higher education (in management, engineering and agriculture) but have limited financial resources for the same. As part of this scholarship scheme, two scholars from each institute are selected on merit-cum-means basis.
